December 9, 2020--Practice blog in the time of the virus

I shouldn't call it a practice day as I spent about 30 minutes at the piano. Began day with my office hour and breakfast. Sent out a series of letters to students about timeline on things to be done. Stayed up late last night reading Albert Pike's Morals and Dogma, so I took a bit of a nap. I had a car appointment to get the oil changed, and then had a zoom meeting. Car was ready at end of meeting. Came home and worked on some theory worksheets for a student. This got me to 4 pm. Practiced piano for 30 minutes and then had a zoom lesson. Worked a little longer on the piano (about 10-15 minutes) before getting dinner started (took an hour). And that basically gets me here.

On the piano, I made sure I felt comfortable with a series of accompaniments that I will be playing tomorrow for a high school choir. One is a Liebeslieder waltz by Brahms that was sent to me in four hands arrangement. So I went and found a hand arrangement, transposed it, and we will see if this will work. If not--I learned a Liebeslieder waltz. (recording above).
