Vespers - Michael Calabris | Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 111

This is my entry for the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 111.

This piece is, at its most basic level, a sort of chant in the Phrygian mode. Michael affords the performer a lot of freedom, so I've tried to solo out some chant sections whilst maintaining some sort of musical integrity on my part! Over all, the affect should be mysterious and mystical. You'll also notice that I'm switching camera angles during breaks in the music using my Stream Deck.

This was recorded on the organ of the St. Etienne Abbey in Caen (Sonus Paradisi) using the Hauptwerk VPO software.
