The Sanshin-gak in The Boseoksa

(Edited)

We passed by many things in life.
Among those things, there are many treasures that we did not recognize.
It’s been more than three years since I’ve traveled to Korean temples.
At first, Every temples seemed similiar.
As I traveled, I found that every temple has various singularities.
Nowadays, I expect to find new characteristics from the temple I visit.

The Sanshin-gak of the Boseoksa is a small temple where people rarely visit.

PA010085.JPG

The Sanshin-gak is a temple for worshiping a god of the mountain. As I mentioned from other posts, the Sanshin-gak shows the process of Korean traditional religion being embraced by Buddhism.

The god of the mountain is significant in Korean shamanism.
Unfortunately, it was hard to properly know about the god of the mountain because the research on Korean shamanism was not done sufficiently.
The god of the mountain is also seen in the process of accepting Confucianism in China.
The commemorative rite for ancestors is vital in Confucianism in Korea. Before doing a ritual for the ancestors, a ceremony for the god of the mountain is done first.
Korean cemeteries are usually located in the mountains, so the rite for the god of the mountain is done first to show courtesy.

The most peculiar thing of the Sanshin-gak in the Boseoksa is that the god of the mountain is placed in the center.

PA010089.JPG

PA010090.JPG

Usually, the Buddha’s statue is placed in the middle, and the gods of the mountain are placed on both sides.

The god of the mountain is represented as a tiger.
Tigers were drawn very realistically.

PA010091.JPG

PA010092.JPG

There was a sculpture of phoenix under the roof of the Sanshin-gak.

PA010099.JPG

PA010101.JPG

There was painting around the Sanshin-gak, but I could not grasp its meaning.

PA010102.JPG

I could only know that the painting was influenced by Taoism a lot.

Below is a Buddha painting in Sanshin-gak.

PA010094.JPG

PA010097.JPG

It was the first time I saw that the positions of the god of the mountain and the Buddha were changed.
I just assumed that the influence of traditional Shamanism was huge.

The the Sanshin-gak is really historical, mere looking at it from the outside one would not know it's so beautiful on the inside really, the Buddha painting is colourful and amazing and well.

Hi @smooth

You don't mean that, LOL of that comment above
You've actually explained to me some things these past few days that I've appreciated, but what I see now with LOL is not palatable in this case
have you seen @transisto's blog and then he comes here to express nausea. This is sick, regardless of such behavior we should not have here

I don't agree with you
I think you are greed, despotic and totalitarian dictator.
I have posted for 3 years, I did not powerdown to change steem for fiat
I want to show this continuous work finally can be rewarded with massive profit.
What you are doing is really bad thing for steem ecosystem.
The best thing for steem price is buying steem and powerup.
Nobody wants to powerup in this circumstance.
So, I think you are the worst enemy against steem ecosystem.
We already had suffered this process in Korean Community.
Once Korean community was the largest in Steemit, but most of the accounts left as a result of this kind of dispute.
Yor are forcing steempower holders powerdown and leave.

I support several accounts that write good content.
And my writing in steemit is a daily result of my personal research.
Even though it looked not popular, it is very important for me to research further.
If you read my posts, you could notice how many temples I have visited, and how my thoughts and opinions on the buddhist architecture and arts were changed.

I am doing my best for Steem ecosystem.
I am buying and powering up, distributing my vote for good content.
writing a post every day.

Do not waste your time and efforts for others failure.
Do your work for your success.
Steemit could not survive, if steemit could not exist without massive steempower holders' sacrifice.

Hi @transisto

Are there any comments you would like to crush with other users?

It is a nasty comment and it does not belong to one with honor in his family.

Yes because you have the best schools and the honor is from your family.

You want is a red flag, drivers just sit there waiting

It will be my first red flag and why you see it

I disagree. He's welcome to post on steem whatever he wants so long as it's not illegal. The posts just need the rewards adjusted down to a reasonable level, in large part from the vote trading. I hope at some point he decides to democratise his steem power by supporting real curation. He can make a perfectly acceptable ROI by delegating to many different manual curation efforts.

vote trading ?
Me and my friends have had a relationship for more than 3 years.
Should I quit the relationship with all of my 3 years long friends?
Then what is community?

What an insulting response. The casual onlooker might be fooled by this line, but anyone paying attention knows differently. As soon as they stop voting you, you stop voting them. I've seen it. On top of that you match both vote frequency and vote amount. These so call friends have zero engagement on your blog besides voting you and your returning the favour. You attempt to obfuscate your activities of vote trading and self voting by maintaining different large accounts and rebalancing steem between them.

Even assuming your so called friends were voting you honestly, your posts are still over-rewarded for what they are. And no, holding a certain amount of steem power doesn't give you any more claim to the reward pool for your posts than anyone else. It does however give you a tremendous opportunity to get rewarded through actual curation.

I have seen you make offers to people to play nice and get rewarded to those who question your activities.

Having a bunch of steem doesn't give you any special claims or considerations post HF22, the sooner you come to grips with that, the sooner we can all move forward.

Go ahead and sell as you've warned, I'd sooner see the price of steem take a short term hit than watch any more of this charade.

Of course, I vote for who vote me first, it is natural in manual voting.
But that is a part of my voting.
Honestly, it is busy voting for those who vote for me.
Should I neglect people who vote for me ?
I don't think it a life.
I care for those who care for me first.
What is the principle in our life?
Steem price is the most important to you?
Then, this kind of problem must be resolved by the coding.
And please look at your account, who vote for you?

The problem is being solved by the code. The solution is called free downvotes. They were introduced exactly for cases like yours.
Why not use your stake to benefit the whole platform? Your investment doesn't help the price when you only use it to enrich yourself. Do you really think you selling would have a long term impact on the price? That's hilarious.

You can have an impact though. A positive one. By supporting the vision and the value proposition of steem, laid out in the whitepaper.

I totally disagree with you
It seems that you are one side mind person.
Of course, I exchange my vote, and I donate my vote sometimes.
Selling vote is not the right expression.
There could be many behaviors in vote spreading.
One thing important is Steemit can not survive with the donation system.
What you want is the platform being survived with the donation.
The system must be competitive.
We already experienced this situation in the Korean community.
I definitely tell you "YOU ARE WRONG"

You only argue from your own position, and all you can bring forward is telling everyone else that they are wrong.
You had your way for years, didn't work so well, did it? We lost tens of thousands of users in that time, many of who could've become investors if they felt appreciated.

It's not donating when you don't give away something. People either get rewarded for their work, or they will work somewhere else. Authors left for medium and other outlets, because people like you think growing their own stake is more beneficial to the value than growing the platform.

You need to look at the problems of Steemit carefully.
The concept of POB was failed.
You need to recognize that.
I did everything including delegating my steempower to the curatiors without any rewards. But most of my try was failed.
So my conclusion is that I need keep the accounts as many as possible with spreading rewards.

So I dare to say you are wrong.

One thing more, do you know why SCT of steemengine is successful compare to Steemit. Because the way of running SCT is the result of the failure of the way you are doing now.

You need to look at SCT.
The most important thing in SNS seems Loyalty in SCT case.
And What makes people loyal to their accounts?

Hi @pharesim, I just noticed the trail of your comment communication with @slowwalker and reading carefully through all of it I thought I must leave a message just for your information as well as any others who will be reading it.

In august 2018 me and my hubby @myskye created @art-venture project. We asked around for delegation from organization and Steemians: @fundition, @donkeypong, @theycallmedan, @slowwalker many other people I can't remember just now because few declined it immediately, the other said yes, but then we never heard anything.

Here are the original comments from one ago ago:

art-venture.PNG

And that was answer two days later, without asking anything in respond just for free in order to support undervalued artists:

slowwalker.PNG

He is still supporting our magazine so that we have enough for leasing and also for running Art Contest in order to pay the rewards for winners.

It is funny that one year ago all that "whales" did not care about a new project that was supporting undervalued artists, the project that had nothing and started from scratch.

Now the same "whales" behaving themselves like Heros but Hey, those guys also earning 50/50 on those content creators. That is even better for them they do not need to post just randomly walk around and upvote. Therefore it is double benefit, they will not need to spend time for creating a quality contests and also because they do no posts that means they do not receive Downvotes, they still earn much more on the posts of Content Creators.

If people really looked carefully in what @slowalker does, his posts about the Culture and heritage of his country and see that he is not only supporting the friends who earn more but also many small accounts, who happy to any attention, then probably they would not behave like that.

That's nice of him. But don't be blinded by the generosity, when it's not even 0.5% of his whole stake, while a big part of the rest is still used for self voting and vote exchanges. It would be nice if he used more of it to support the rest of the community, and if he did we wouldn't be in this situation.

That time many others did self-upvote wihtout any problem until very recent but now they sound innocent. In the past non-of other whales gave us any respond just ignored. If not him then many Artists who are there and who your curation @curangel curating now would not be there many of them we started to support in 2018 but with indirect support of him.

Support of < 0.5% of his stake. Got it. No reason to look away what he's doing now.

We didn't have the tools to fight self voting before last HF. Now we do, and we use them.

Excellent review about the temple. I was looking for more information on the internet about it. But the best one I found was his. The paintings are very realistic, the tigers seem to be alive. When was it painted? They seem freshly painted or well restored. I understand that the temple is made of wood and is among the oldest.

Thank you very much for sharing.

It is unknown when it was painted! I guess it seemed fresh because it was kept repainted!

@slowwalker, The Sanshin-gak of the Boseoksa seems historical temple. It's small one but paintings superior. Yeah...in this temple the god of mountain placed center. It was different characteristic you've found. There are more paintings with various meaning.

I have observed one thing that most of the temples are situated in the hilly part. I have visited some of the temples in my country also where all the temples are in the southern part of the country which are hill tracks. Don't know, may be related with tranquillity of nature. However, nice observation about the temple and beautiful pictures.

The Sanshin-gak looks really small but seeing the paintings and Buddha inside it might be surprisingly spacious. I like that painting with two tigers on both sides of Buddha, that was new for me that tiger is reflecting a God of mountains. beautiful colors and still have such intensity of color pigments, despite of being really old.

Phoenix seems to be carved from wood and then painted, but the colors of wood work became slightly paler. Every single painting must have been caring a story behind. But as a person who is interested in Art, I really appreciate you for capturing such ancient works of ancient Artists.
