Unimpeded visual vs dense clouds

avatar
(Edited)

Stars shining from behind dense clouds.

The density of the cloud can be determined by how much light is blocked out.

These are not regular clouds but clouds of interstellar dust, hydrogen and other gasses collapsing under their their own gravity.

The stars in the right of the image should be as bright as the starts on the left but for the dust etc. in the intervening proximity.
