If you are a third batch entrants, that is; if you came into the Crypto-space between 2016-2018, then you are the third in line to early adopters. Those people that knew about the Blockchain and bought Bitcoin with some other tokens earliest, say by 2010-2014, are the early birds. Back then the idea of crypto scam was limited to the nearest minimum, projects and token owners carting away with huge amounts of early backers money was uncommon till the era of ERC-20.

One of the problems that comes with $ETH being open source is the coming of (Ethereum Request for Comments)ERC-20, tokens and projects built on the Ethereum Blockchain changed the status quo both positively and negatively. That was the beginning of endless fake ICOs, multiple Initial Coin Offering to swindle investors of their money, all thanks to Mr.Buterin(maybe to Gavin too) for his(their) brilliant idea that was the gateway to fraudsters ripping people of their cash. Maybe an innovation gone wrong, or it was part of a master plan; ICO exit scams were unpopular before the era of ERC-20 protocols and that's a fact. Although, a lot of successful projects were birthed from it as well as several many bad eggs. EOS is a popular and common one to be remembered that came out fine of the open source advantage.

Nevertheless, EOS too has so many complexities as a result of the initial design on the Ethereum Chain and its own on-chain scalability(though this publication is not about EOS). As one of the most, or best project out there that the ETH chain facilitated, its important to juxtapose it with several other failed and rip off ERC-20 based projects. Fact is, it is the incompetence and greed of the founders of most project that failed, and money-drive, which is another factor responsible for a few of these documented problems in terms of ICO exit scams. If there was no gateway for these crimes to be perpetrated, there is a single to zero chances of massive crypto rip offs recorded in 2017/2018.

As a victim of ICOs scam, I fault Vitalik for this mess and I believe there are thousands like me out there with hidden feud. But as an innovator, I would consider it a success because the open source attribute of Ethereum Blockchain made it one of the largest(biggest) if not the largest chain with inbuilt projects and dapps. Though it served excellent purposes, yet it had made thousands cry as well.

Sadly, many good things comes with its bad sides, some of these disadvantages could be devastating as many companies crashed, investors jailed a few reported case of suicide as a result of losing heavy sum of investors capitals. They say nothing good comes easy, so is Crypto. It came with all the hates and digitalized scams. Its a hard choice to live with, a hardknock life we all chose, to be freed from centralized institutions that ruled and enslave the world!
