Do you still remember the finished work of that Man of Calvary

Bible Reference

John 15:14-15, Gal. 4:7, Rom. 6:5-7

Last night I was so blessed when the man of God referred us to one of the hymns that we really sing except occasionally like Easters or communion service. But this one was during the first day of Emancipation programme which holds on the six and seventh day of every month. Yesterdays tour was at Christian Fellowship, IBB Way, Uyo, Nigeria.

Indeed I was so blessed while meditating on the words of the hymn which was projected for all while we sang together as a congregation. The song had a way of taking me back to the cross and the agonies that Jesus went through just to redeem mankind from the condemnation which sin of disobedience has brought to us.

That manof Calvary Hymn

Fairest of all the earth beside,
Chiefest of all unto Thy bride,
Fullness divine in Thee I see,
Beautiful Man of Calvary!

Refrain

That Man of Calvary
Has won my heart from me,
And died to set me free,
Blest Man of Calvary!

Granting the sinner life and peace,
Granting the captive sweet release,
Shedding His blood to make us free,
Merciful Man of Calvary!

Refrain

Giving the gifts obtained for men,
Pouring out love beyond our ken,
Giving us spotless purity,
Bountiful Man of Calvary!

Refrain

Comfort of all my earthly way,
Jesus I’ll meet Thee some sweet day;
Center of glory Thee I’ll see,
Wonderful Man of Calvary!

Refrain

The scripture says that he whom the son of man has set free is free indeed, hence, the work of Christ on the cross has freed us from all sins, condemnation, persecution and death. Glory halleluiah.

It saddens my heart though that we still get ourselves entangled with the yoke of sin which Christ had freed us, we tend to work in the freedom made possible by the death of Christ on the cross. Here are things I want you to take note:

1.The man that brought freedom to every man is the man of Calvary.

2.The man that saved and thrust you out of the pit of slavery and gave his life to redeem you is the Man of Calvary.

3.No sinner is free from slavery. Every sinner is a slave. The reason Jesus stood firm and said to His disciples “You are no longer a slave”, was because He had given them the word, taught them the word and ensured that the word had become part of them.

4.Every and any man that is free from slavery, such a man would the demons would bow to him.

5.Satan cannot bow to ordinary man. In Luke 20, when the 70 disciples returned they were are happy to report to Jesus that the demons bow to them, Jesus however admonished them not to be happy for the demons bowing to them, but rather that their names have been written in heaven.

6.No name of any who is a slave to sin is written in heaven no matter your position in church or how far you’ve played church.

Nugget

When you say that you are no longer a slave, it entails that you have had an encounter with the Master.

Please make it a date to attend to today being the last bottom pot edition of the emancipation movement at Christian Fellowship IBB Way, Uyo. God bless you as you come.

Until we admit the sacrifice that was made by that man of Calvary, we may never get access to be called into the kings throne to dine with him. That one sacrifice has set all free. What then can hold us bound?

Thank you for stopping by.
