Weekly Running Update - Going Longer II
Two runs this short week, as I'm trying to get back in sync by putting these out Sundays/ Mondays, rather than Tuesdays/ Wednesdays!
I would have had three runs but I skipped my usual 5K Saturday blast because I wanted to get my weekly long run in during the nice weather, before it plummeted Sunday, which it did.
Also, I think I've earned a run off given my 5K PB last week!
I track most of my runs with Garmin, which auto uploads to Strava.
Weekly running summary:
- Total kilometres this (short) week: 24.5Ks
- No. of runs: 2
Thursday's Run - Intervals
Really a 2K warm up and then around 5.5Ks of intervals.
I did a few 500s then a Kilometre and then just one 200 blast to finish.
That was pretty brutal.
Saturday's Run: 17K Long Run
It was beautiful weather for this, out at 8.00 a.m., but it was hard work! My legs weren't quite feeling it, but I pushed through, quite happy with my pacing in the last half especially.
My left thigh and groin were proper aching after, I really needed a day of rest Sunday, much better today thankfully!
Next week's plans
I'm still aching after that 17K, so I'm in a restive mood right now. I'm going to try for another easy 8K on Tuesday, then back to intervals, 5K Saturday and another long run Sunday.
And maybe usual circuits but I think I'm getting to the territory where I need to watch I don't overdo it, so maybe just some light training there.
Nothing can stop a consistent Runner.

Wow. That's great statistics. I have to try and keep in shape myself
That's a good distance for just 2 runs. Don't overdo it though. I'm hoping people with log some good times when things like parkrun come back, but can they be the same?
Nice easy run for me tomo!
I'm not expecting Park Run to restart until the Autumn.
It's kind of hard to imagine a social distanced version. I can't imagine staggered starts would be that easy to arrange! And it's kind of a huddle without them.
You also have to breath of course!
