Now that I got your attention with the thumbnail of my cat, we can begin. I was going to make some fancy thumbnail that says "Three Truths and a Lie with DerangedVisions" and have a logo and all that in it, but I figured Rusty would be better at getting people to click on my post than that would have been, and I guess it worked since you are here.

So with Steemfest in less than a month, we will all be meeting up soon, and @anomadsoul came up with a pretty cool icebreaker for us to get to know each other a bit better by having us make a post with three truths and a lie. Check out his post here for all of the official rules and stuff for it. But anyways, on to the stuff about me.

I grew up in Japan

When I was in first grade we moved to Japan and lived there for the next four and a half years. Growing up in Japan was my first introduction into the Asian culture and I fell in love with it right away. I grew up watching Dragon BallZ in Japanese, going snorkeling in the ocean, and enjoying everything about Japan.

I drank Cobra blood

When I was in the military, I was stationed in South Korea for a year. During that time, my unit took part in the annual Cobra Gold training exercise. The exercise is a large scale training exercise with many different countries involved. Part of the training involved survival training where they had some cobras and cut the heads off of them and let those of us that wanted to drink the blood take part. It wasn't the most delicious thing in the world, but the goat blood straight from the goat's neck while I was in Africa was still worse than this.

I went to 7 different schools growing up

Growing up in a military family has its perks. One of them being you never get bored of a place because you are always moving on to the next place before you have time to really get bored of it. When I was in elementary school through high school, I went to seven different schools. That was a lot of moving and a lot of being the "new kid".

It was cool though because when you are in a military community, most of the kids at the beginning of the year are new. The one thing that did suck about it was that we never really did have the time to make those lifelong relationships with our friends that some people get to have like if we had stayed in the same place our lives. I would have never been able to experience the world growing up either though.

I am scared of heights

I am not really scared of much at all, but heights is one of the things that really get my heart racing. My oldest brother used to be really into rock climbing and when he lived here in Utah, I went with him one time.

I started at the top of the boulder and he was going to belay me down. All I had to do was lean back and walk backwards down the rock face. I think we were only like 15 to 20 feet up as well, so it wasn't even that high. I stayed up there for a good 45 minutes trying to get the courage to lean back, but every time I started to lean back, I got scared. I ended up laying on the ground and sliding backwards off the edge.

Well that is it for now

I hope you enjoyed my three truths and a life. Let me know which one you think I am lying about. I will give you one hint. I am a writer and I make up a lot of things, so any of these can be a lie, but only one of them is.

For all of you that are going to be at SteemFest, I am looking forward to seeing you all in less than a month. It is going to be epic this year.

I think you're lying about the cobra blood. Not that I don't believe you wouldn't.
