Zennith, "I Like It" Featuring Jesse Royal - Song Review.

Originating from Tropical North Queensland, this group are representative of Reggae in Australia. Reggae is finding a home among the Indigenous community, and music created by blending reggae sounds with hip-hop and traditional Aboriginal instruments such as the didgeridoo is a growing trend.

In my search to bring something unique and interesting into the ReggaeSteem tribe, I have learnt a fair bit. There is a solid Reggae scene in Australia, and it is being adopted and influencing Indigenous artists most notably. One group leading this trend is Zennith. Their latest album, "Ancient Warrior" was recently released by Zojak Worldwide, and was recorded in Jamaica. The first single release from it is "I Like It".

In a recent article on music website Scenestr they discussed the trip to Jamaica:

“It's a song that we've been playing for a while. When we went to Jamaica, Jesse [Royal] already liked it so we got in the studio and did a remix sort of thing with it. It's a song we really like and it resonates with the audience, we've been growing it for a while.”

We really loved Jamaica and we connected with a lot of artists and made friends. We're looking forward to doing some more tracks and spending a bit more time on the next project.”

The video for the song was filmed in both Australia and Jamaica, and shows some insights into both cultures. It is fun and has a party vibe I really enjoyed on first listen.

As someone just diving in to this style of music, beyond the well know, I quite enjoyed this song. It's catchy and happy, with a fun vibe I enjoyed. As a newbie to this scene, it definitely makes me want to explore more around, and hopefully share more Aussie Reggae with you all.

The Album "Ancient Warrior" features a number of collaborative tracks, and is available now. I can find it on Google Play Music at this link

I hope you like it too, and thanks for looking at my first review of Australian Reggae music.

John.

Looking at their album release it looks like quite a few collaborations on it. Would be great to see an Aussie band do well in the scene. Thanks for checking it out.
