Review of my favorite Quote: "Never Give up.. Never Back down.. Never Lose Hope"

I was inspired by this quote in the movie “Facing the Giants.” It’s one of my favorite quotes that I have been running with over the years. Fear and Failure are the giants that this movie addresses. There is a particular scene(death Crawl scene) that I keep watching that really motivates me the more and makes me stronger in many times I am tempted to give up.

I have faced lots of fears and failures in the course of my salvation life that have tempted me to give up on my faith in God. For example, when I had first converted to Christianity, I was a very passionate and zealous young man when it came to things pertaining to God. I kept on witnessing to people about the love of God at the University, encouraging many to love him. I was just excited about the supernatural peace of heart, joy and the miraculous manifestations of God’s love for me as I kept on praying and seeking God on a prayer mountain.

Tough times came when I started fasting that is after being advised and guided by one of my mentors who had introduced me to the gospel message of love and transformation. I had never fasted before. I was good at eating and all my life I thought that it was impossible for me to sleep hungry for some days without depositing any food in my stomach. I thought that food was the only source of strength. The last time I attempted to do a partial fast for 7 days, I registered a failure when I ended up breaking my fast that very day and at just mid-day. I did not give up, I decided to try again the next day and it worked out perfectly through a continuous persistence and trusting God to strengthen me all through the days.

The other time I registered another failure was when I was advised to enter 3 days fasting taking water only. I boldly entered the fast but because I was still playing a lot of tennis, a sport that requires a lot of physical energy and fitness on the court. I registered a failure when I broke my fast the following day at mid-day. It’s because I became so weak the following day due to so many movements on the tennis court that I had done yet I had gone without food for a day and a half. Salvation became tougher for me because of these failures that I had registered in the area of fasting. I gathered up myself and just took courage with a hope that I will grow up and become a strong Christian in the future with the help of God’ love and power.

I have grown up stronger in God over the years and now I can fast and endure all the pain and weakness involved with the help of the Holy Spirit and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures. My past failures experiences have taught me “to never give up, never back down and to never lose hope.” I thank God for this quote laid out in this movie “Facing the Giants” as it has been a great motivation to me in this new course of my life.

Your quote of choice caught my attention and your narrative did not disappoint me. It's amazing how far you have come by drawing strength from those words. Similar to your experience, the "Eat that frog" quote got me up and running from procrastination in the past and literarily saved me from myself. Nice review. We look forward to your next contribution.
