Even Remember the Good Old MTV?

I had reminisced for a while more than 20 years ago, and how life was back then. Of course, being at my 30s, there are a lot of things to think about life. Back then, you don't have to think of so much problem. All you think is how to enjoy your life.

Then suddenly, I remember those days when I used to be a big fan of MTV. Yes, I came to a point when my life is about watching music videos, and the times when I was a big music fan. I can easily tell what music video was playing even on its first 3 seconds being aired. Those are the good old days of MTV.

Back then, we had MTV Southeast Asia, where most western mainstream music videos are being played. I will even sleep late watching MTV Non-Stop Hits. My favorite has always been MTV Asia Hitlist when they are counting down the biggest hits in the region each week. How about TRL? I miss those days. That's where most pop stars appear, perform, or promote their new album.

Different MTV Awards, from the VMAs, the Europe Music Awards, Movie Awards, and even the Asia Awards! Those events are highly anticipated. The performances of different artists, the issues during the event, and a lot more. These awardd shows has been part of the music and entertainment culture.

By mid-2000s, YouTube came. MTV still plays music videos, but the next decade came, YouTube became more popular, then VEVO came. The platform became the source of music video viewing. MTV started to create more shows not dedicated to music, mostly nonsense reality shows. They rarely play music anymore.

MTV here in Asia still exists. However, it wasn't cool as it used to. Gone are the days when MTV is still cool. No more excitement as we used to before. On the other hand, Music Television was already removed from the logo of MTV. That pretty speaks of how the cool MTV was already dead.
