Power in liquid form

Cool theme for this week's Qurator's Photo Quest: The power of water!

My first though was to search all the wave photos I had. And then I remembered a different kind of power. The one that comes from the depths of the earth, as pressure builds up. And when it builds, and it builds, and it builds...

It bursts!!

Geysers are amazing, and can only be seen when special conditions meet. And in Iceland, where the volcano activity is huge, the conditions are perfect! In fact, the name geyser comes from this country, and if I recall correctly, this little guys is the origin:

In this area thow, the main attraction is the one bursting on the first photo. Strokkur is probably the most famous geyser, as it blows regularly every few minutes.

And of course, gathering a crowd for the show!

All around the area, smaller displays of Mother Nature's force are abundant.

Bubbling hot water, all the energy accumulated, but never actually blowing. And probably all it would take would be a little change in the conditions, and a whole new reality would be in place.

Definitely, Nature can put quite a show. Can't wait to start travelling and admire all these wonders again!
