Curious face, grumpy face, thinking face?

I was revisiting some of my photos from a distant trip to Cuba, and came across these beauties. I love reptiles, and these do remind me a tiny dinosaur! So here they are, straight from Cubs to this week's @qurator's Photo Friday Competition.

Cuban rock iguana - Cyclura nubila

The cuban rock iguanas are not as colourful as some of their relatives, but what they lack in color they have in presence. They the largest of the Cyclura genus, and some of them are HUGE, reaching almost 1,5m from head to tail.

Don't let their grumpy face fool you: they are peaceful. And if you don't bother them and are gentle, you can get pretty close and admire them in detail!

Oh wooow! They look so cool! When I was in Cuba, I didn´t see even the smallest lizard... You were really privileged to encounter these beautiful miniature dinosaurs there :)

I actually didn't see them in the main island. But in Cayo largo, where I stayed a couple days, they were everywhere! Together with hummingbirds, woodpeckers and a bunch of other species!

Ohh for sure! Well, any kind of reptile, to be honest! 😂 But a komodo dragon on its natural habitat would be perfect.
