Christmas Spirit everywhere!

Finally back to @qurator's Photo Quest! This week's there is Christmas Spirit, and I immediatly remembered my trip to Italy, last year.

Out of pure randomness, decided to stay a couple days in Como, a village near the lake with the same name, since I wanted to explore the nature in that area. I flew to Italy shortly after Christmas, and when I arrived to Como, this was the show:

Colours everywhere! I later found out that during all December, the village lights up. The atmosphere is amazing: people everywhere, Christmas markets, the façade of most buildings with Christmas-themed videomapping shows... even a caroussel in one of the main squares!

Almost all squares were lit. Some more, some less, but it was hard to find one in the centre area that wasn't like this. Even the narrow passageways between the squares were illuminated.

It was pure joy to simply walk along the streets and seeing everyone enjoying the night; after all, being surrounded with beautiful images and bright colours surely helps to lift up the spirit! I'm so glad I ended up there; don't think I could have chosen a more suitable place in that time of the year!
