The SHADE Report -- July -- Sharing and Engagement Report -- August Prize Announcement

(Edited)

Welcome to the 3rd SHADE Report. I’m releasing these once a month.

The SHADE token is available via Steem Engine. It’s meant to be a fun token distributed for sharing and promoting posts on the platform.

The July Results

There were two features in July.

  • SHADE was awarded to anyone who wrote a #thoughtfuldaily post and presented it at Pimp Your Post Thursday
  • I started tracking the SHADE awarded for presenting and commenting on posts at Pimp Your Post Thursday.

#thoughtfuldaily Post Results

The #thoughtfuldaily post is an initiative started by @wesphilbin to encourage people to write about something positive and uplifting each day. An attitude of gratitude if you would.

During July there were sixteen of the #thoughtfuldaily posts presented by: @thekittygirl, @mrnightmare89, @sgt-dan, @enginewitty, @mumma-monza, @zekepickleman, @saffisara, @wesphilbin, @adityajainxds and @wwwiebe

SHADE Tracking from PYPT

The SHADE awarded at PYPT is the center of why the token was created. The show is not just about sharing your own posts but also sharing the posts of others and most importantly, commenting on each others posts showing support and interest.

July was a trial run of what will become a regular practice. There is a list of links compiled for each show on the Ramble Radio Forum where you can visit the posts even after the show is over.

Leaving a comment, a real comment, on the post mentioning PYPT earns 1 SHADE. Those presenting the posts earn 2 SHADE and when presenting someone else’s post, leaving them a comment that their post was presented earns another 2 SHADE.

Pretty simple. Can take a bit of time but not only do you earn SHADE you get to visit some pretty decent posts. One thing I’ve seen in almost two years of doing these shows, rarely do we get shitposts show up.

Over the course of the month 36 people took part in PYPT and commenting. It was 37, but one person was found to have presented plagiarized material. That gets an immediate ban. There are lots of ways to produce original content, don’t steal.

Top Commenter — @thekittygirl — 100
Top Presenter — @thekittygirl — 19 posts

Here are the top fifteen:

  1. @thekittygirl — 150
  2. @bluefinstudios — 92

Prizes for August

I was pleased with the number of people not only presenting but taking the time to comment on posts. But, I think we can do better. So, I’m introducing a prize structure for August. They will be awarded at the end of August.

Top Commenter & Top Presenter

  • Matching award of SHADE points earned.
    NOTE: Top Presenter’s points will include points earned for commenting on another person’s post you’ve presented.

Top Overall

1st. — 5 SBI and a matching award of SHADE for points earned
2nd. — 3 SBI and a matching award of SHADE for 75% of points earned
3rd. — 1 SBI and a matching award of SHADE for 50% of points earned

Let’s look at how this would have worked out for July:

  • Top Commenter — @thekittygirl would have received 100 SHADE
    — Top Presenter — @thekittygirl would have received 50 SHADE
  • Top Overall

1st — @thekittygirl would have received 5SBI and 150 SHADE
2nd — @bluefinstudios would have received 3SBI and 69 SHADE
3rd — @solominer would have received 1 SBI and 31 SHADE

Introducing A Sink Into SHADE

Over the last few months I’ve introduced ways to distribute SHADE other than buying and selling on Steem Engine. Now it is time to start introducing ways to burn the token to alter the supply.

The first burn is I’ve decided to burn an equal amount of the SHADE paid out for the #thoughtfuldaily posts in July. So, 160 SHADE tokens have been burned.

For August, the SHADE earned as prizes will be matched and burned. If I did this for July I would be burning 400 tokens.

Obtaining SHADE

This is how you earn SHADE at PYPT:

— Promote your own post — 2 SHADE
— Promote someone else’s post who isn’t present — 2 SHADE
— Leave a comment on the promoted post letting them know you promoted it at

While the most direct way to earn SHADE is by participating at Pimp Your Post Thursday in The Rambleon Thursdays, there are other ways.

Community is About Sharing

I’m all about community and the power of community to empower those who participate in it. By caring and sharing within a community everyone can have opportunity to grow.

In that spirit, as I explore posts on the platform, I’ll be leaving SHADE for those who work to help others get an opportunity to be seen and to grow.

I’ve also been leaving some SHADE on new Steemians who I find have continued to post after their initial introduction post. The Intro posts get so much attention, automated and real, it becomes disheartening when the newbie posts next and there is no response.

You Can Share Too

When you have obtained 100 SHADE, you can also share it around to reward good community and newbies posting. All you have to do is type:

!SHADE xx where the XX is a number up to 5 and the token(s) will be dispatched.

Since I introduced SHADE I’ve been observing the response. Some of those who attend PYPT are really diligent about going to the posts and leaving comments. Some very thoughtful comments are left at times.

Some new friendships have been formed. The more we can get to know each other, the stronger our community is. I want to encourage and build that engagement.

Here’s some things to remember:

  1. When leaving a comment be sure to mention PYPT. That triggers a notice to me so I can credit you with the engagement. Even if you visit a couple of days later, I’ll get the notice.
  2. Leave actual comments. Not just ‘nice post’ or ‘will come back later’. I’ll ignore those.
  3. You will be able to get the links from the Rambling Radio forum after the show is over so you don’t have to leave all of them open in your browser. I know that gets tough.
    I’m working on sorting out future ways for you to spend your hard earned SHADE.

Trading SHADE

SHADE can be traded on the market at the steem-engine site

Circulation Report

Currently the value of SHADE on the market is about 0.055 Steem, an increase of 0.005.

Of the 100,000 tokens available, there is 15,752 tokens in circulation with 289 holders. I have excluded any holdings I have. That is an increase of 5,261 tokens.

The top 10 token holders are:

@dreemsteem 5,000
@enginewitty 2,070
@inertia 897
@thekittygirl 815
@bluefinstudios 521
@freedompoint 341
@sgt-dan 324
@priyanarc 313
@jamerussell 295
@solominer 272

Will you be in the top 10 at the end of August?

So, let’s have some fun tossing some SHADE around.

Hi shadowspub, this write-up was particularly meaty, fulfilling, wholesome, beefy and deserving of a CHOPS token. Don't Chomp on it all at once!

I really need to buy myself some more shade so I can start dishing them out as well. Looks like it’s going really well though, and keeping people engaged. !COFFEEA 15
