Many of the whales do not even want the benefit of this platform, just/only their own. And this is also true for many users. The selfishness and greed is what spoil this platform.
Okay, some of the whales vote other whales (circle of friends) (some people call this "circlejerking"), but that does not benefit this platform.
There are only a few truly good whales, who actually support the smaller accounts and the community.
I used to say "ruin" instead of "spoil", but recently I discovered some really kind, good hearted people on this platform, who are really trying to help others, and to build a community.
I do agree though, we want the platform as healthy as possible. I do what i can to try and support decent content. Takes time every day to curate but im glad to do so. Keep rockin and stay healthy you animals.

Many people did it without any effect. The whales either did not noticed it, or they simply do not care. Or both.
I do the same. If not with my (nowadays nearly worthless) upvotes, then with my comments, and/or some token reward calls.
