The Biweekly Weekly Zekely?!?
In days of old, I would dive into the photos on my phone and revisit pictures of swashbuckling and adventure every week. Things are a little different now as 2020 presents challenges, my adventures are a little more restricted, and I am working to get back to patterns and habits as my enterprise evolves.
So, Every, 2 weeks, it seems I release a Weekly Zekely and there is great rejoicing! Lets see what the last week presented in the way of life, adventure and bliss.
It has been quite a while since I spent much time in the garden. The fertilizing is done, rain is regular, and the harvest is slowing. Every day, I like to make a reason to go back to prune, pick, or just hang out and check out what is growing. Though there is not much to report as the season is a few weeks shorter the wonders never cease.
In the butterfly garden, we have planted many varieties of perennial flowers so the bees and butterflies have a few extra stops for food. I am not even sure which these ones are but am fascinated at the black blooms springing up on each. I may be playing too much virtual DnD when this makes me picture a curse of some sort. Black beauty of a bud.
Jiu-jistu training has returned an element of normal to strange times as phase whatever has permitted the opening of martial arts academies and fitness businesses. It is far from our normal training as I feel I am carrying the Covid weight with 6 months of no training and more like fat Thor than Royce Gracie. Still, with my dedicated partner, we are back to training in a constrained fashion 3-times per week. Great to be back.
I have had 2 parking tickets this week out working in the community supporting the small businesses as they redefine themselves and stay engaged. The city nicely waived parking for the summer but have started ticketing again. Another habit I have to get back into is putting money in the meters as I visit clients, prospects and friends.
The weather is warm and it is great to carefully be out in the world enjoying treats, especially before the cool weather moves in.
It is not all fun and games though as I am putting in some good hours helping connect people with the internet. My trusty ladder and I have had a good number of missions and I should collect some photos for another ladders post and show you the strangest angles of this small town.
There were multiple instances of golf as the prices drop with the temperatures. Still wonderful to be outside and challenging yourself and they will probably have to throw us off the course when the snow starts to fall. For now, the leaves are doing the falling and making it quite a challenge to find balls among the trees!
Of course there was beer. New ones to discover too. I will save the stories for the weekend where I will celebrate weird, little, and delicious brews for #beersaturday.
There is work to do this week as restaurants, artists and performance venues need help weathering this phase and prepare for the next or perhaps second wave and increased restrictions.
I hope your week has been as productive, challenging and strange as mine has. There are wonders all around us in our lives that may seem mundane. We just have to develop our skill to be able to see it.
