Wintertime

My entry to #treetuesday hosted by @old-guy-photos.

Without our beautiful tree we would be living in a desert. A barren desolate land without shade, vegetation and the animals and birds that depend on nesting or perching in a tree.

Tiny, the little red squirrel, lives in the trees and they produce the acorns he likes to eat.

Tiny is eating an acorn as he sits in the snow with the spruce trees behind him.

It looks like he has eaten more than one with the shells left on the ground under him. Tiny, as a squirrel will do, pried off the shell of the acorn to get the inner kernel.

I’ll leave you now with a reminder of spring. 🌸 Always a flower created by @dswigle 🌺

Lilacs are one of the first bushes to blossom and leave their sweet scent floating in the air. To walk by and catch a whiff of their tantalizing odor lifts my spirit higher.

Beautiful post, @redheadpei! Trees are remarkable also for the oxygen they generate! I cannot wait for the lilacs to appear in the spring. They won’t blossom here until May!

Thanks @jayna. Yes trees are the guardians of the earth and without them we would perish. I am enjoying the winter but look forward to spring. 😊

@redheadpei Good shot of Tiny, it does look like he has been munching on acorns for a while his little tummy has to be full. Beautiful pictures.

Hi @myjob. Haha his little tummy does look full. Tiny never seems to get enough. I think he takes a lot of the nuts I give him and stores them away for another time.

Oh, the snow-laden pines are always so romantic and beautiful looking to me. Picture perfect, just like a greeting card.

I was so happy to see Tiny scampering about. We must teach him how to pick up his shells after he munches. :)

Thank you for the mention! The lilacs pull me into their inner circle of fragrance, every single time! Who doesn't love them!!!!???

Have a great night, Jo!

Thanks Denise for your lovely comments and generosity. I’m anxious to smell the lilacs but it may be awhile yet in this area. 😊

Have a wonderful Wednesday. 💕

Hi Jo, thank goodness for the trees that give the little squirrels food in winter. I so love you snow scenes.

Thanks Angie. Yes the trees provide food for him.

Tiny was just here and I gave him some cashews. He is spoiled.

The cats were going nuts watching him through the window.

Oh my gosh Tiny is soo cute! I love the composition of that photo, with Tiny standing out so red in the snow despite being so small :3

Howdy redheadpei! What wonderful photos. They all look great especially for someone who doesn't have to put up with the problems snow can cause! I like the one of Tiny in a pile of nut shells the best. lol.

Mornin’ Cowboy! We have lots of snow this winter but it hasn’t been too cold.

No matter if Tiny has his own food from the acorns, he keeps one eye peeled towards the back deck in case I put something outside for the wildlife to eat. 😂

It seems like the Bluejays would nail him in the head if Tiny stole their food!
