PowerHouseCreatives Contest | Muahahaha - A Villian's Story by @zord189

The couple couldn't believe their good fortune as the travel agent called with a cancellation. Just off the coast of the Pecahomi Bay, the woman thought the view of the idyllic town was absolutely breathtaking. Glancing quickly at the brochure the nice travel agent at Pecahomi Bay Ocean Resorts included in their vacation packet, she smiled as she remembered the overly helpful young lady thinking, she'll be successful.

Giddy with long awaited anticipation, the woman reached over and gently rubbed her fiance's cheek as their shiny red alfa reached the resort.

As Neutra waited for the arrival of her guest, the couple exited the car. She squinted as she stared at them from behind the east side of the resort window before quickly moving out of view. An unexpected turn of events presented itself with a delightful opportunity. Now she could fulfill her quota for today. Two for the price of one. Luck seemed to be shadowing her lately.

Reveling in the fact she rose through the ranks faster than any of her predecessors, Neutra's strength was in the knowledge foretold by her mother that she would one day posses the omnipotence rival only to that of The Supreme Counsel.

For 50 years, Neutra patiently plotted her course as her mother instructed. It was her birthright to uphold the creed of the Fluids. But to be able to continue the bloodline as her mother had done, she must rise quicker than the Others to gain a seat on The Supreme Council.

Nothing was going to stand in her way. Either work harder or eliminate the competition. Second option seemed more satisfying, but challenging. And, she enjoyed a challenge. She lived for it. She desired it. No, she ached for it.

Now she heard of another plot that stood in the way of her rise. The only person posing the greatest threat: Zanupog, the leader of the Others. Trying to incite them to rebel, he spread apprehension throughout that The Supreme Council's master plan was barbaric. To this, Neutra countered, there's billions of them above ground. A few million vanquished throughout time won't be missed. And she'd already set her sites on claiming a vast number.

But Neutra could neither tolerate nor afford separatists. Her future at the Council table depended on it. Exasperated, she now had three challenges: work on her own career advancement, rid herself of any competition, and deal with Zanupog.

She'd deal with the latter two problems soon. She had to keep her day job. After mulling over her current status for another few minutes, she cleared her head, then turned her attention to her incoming guests.

"Hello. Welcome to Pecahomi Bay. Hope you enjoy your stay here," she said. " Later, when you're settled, I'd like to take you on a guided tour of the quaint historical house about 50 yards behind the resort that has a private beach and lanai. Just park in the rear." The couple was elated.

Evening turned to dusk as Neutra drove the couple toward the historical house. The familiar tree awaited as she closed her eyes before greeting it.

Just beneath the surface, she surrendered the couple to the Keeper of Souls. The undercurrent dragged them further into the forces that summoned them. Her work for the day was done. One swift motion propelled her to the surface.

Emerging from the murky water where no human she delivered ever returned, Neutra reared her head to take in the ocean air. She looked back at the water moments before it engulfed the car. Oh, what secrets it held beneath its raging beauty.

As she was about to break for lunch the next day, the phone rang. "Hello. Pecahomi Ocean Resorts, Neutra speaking. How may I help you?"
