I Am Not A Huge Fan ..

Of the cheese and meat plates they serve at our local winery, but my wife does indulge in them from time to time. I am hoping my taste or palate changes in the coming years, before I miss out on these delectable treats. I just can't get into cheese unless its melted between two pieces of bread, mixed in with macaroni and baked golden brown, or sprinkled on top of tomato sauce spread over dough. hehe. From time to time I may try a bite, but quickly realize I don't have a taste for it. Even the meats on the tray are a bit to fancy for my taste. I suppose I am a plain kind of guy. Simple or some may say "picky".

The Atmosphere and Presentation ..

Are well worth the price though. Especially during these cold winter months, we utilize the interior area which has a mix of tables and sofas for just relaxing with your friends, family or in my case.. wife. My wife took this shot while out at the winery with a friend, I arrived later and the meat and cheese plate was all but gone. Okay by me and I brought my own goodies from home anyhow. Chips with salsa and pretzel sticks! Perfect for the simple one. Anyhow, The photo was really good, especially since the place was not so busy and there are no people in the shot. I kind of like that part :-) more relaxing to me than super crowded.

I Played With The Photo ..

And created a more artistic version of the shot. Why not? I love the picture and thought it could use my artistic touch. It came out kind of cool I thought. Loose flowing style with color chunks or block styling (i think). I wish there was less green in it, but overall I like it. I really like the chairs the most for some reason, followed by the wine glasses and cheese plate.

Lesson Learned ??

Even if you don't like wine (which I do) or the cheese plate (which I don't), at the very least take photos. Photos are good for blog posts and for artistic manipulations.. and that's FUN!

On That Note.. GOOD NIGHT TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
