Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Thursday that she is asking House committees to move to impeach President Trump, taking a major step toward making him just the third president in American history to face that sanction.
“The facts are uncontested,” Pelosi (D-San Francisco) said. “The president abused his power for his own personal political benefit.”

My thoughts on this news

I have not posted in a while but I still follow the political shit show that is happening in the USA. US Politics right now is still the greatest reality show that has ever existed, and if it was actually not happening before our eyes no one would believe this story.

So it looks like now Trump will definitely be impeached by the House. Here is a simple chart showing the actual impeachment process of the US Government.

The step we are on now is the Articles of Impeachment will be given to the House and 51% of House members have to vote to impeach Trump. This very likely will happen because after the last elections Democrats have a majority in the House, so as long as all Democrats vote to impeach Trump he will be impeached and a trial will begin in the Senate.

Once the process will go to the Senate it is still uncertain what will happen, since Mitch McConnell is the leader of the Senate he may just ignore the impeachment and not even start a trial. He basically has been doing this with all the bills that have been coming from the House to the Senate, he has just ignored them for the last year and they do not vote on them. Or a trial will start and since the Republicans have a majority in the Senate they will vote to keep Trump as president and will not remove him from office.

To keep things somewhat simple I did not mention what Trump is being impeached for, he has actually broken several laws but this impeachment is mostly for bribery. Trump got caught bribing the Ukrainian President to start an investigations into Biden's son. The USA was giving military aid to the Ukraine but Trump stopped that aid because he wanted the Ukrainian President to announce on TV that there is an investigation into Biden's son, which would likely help Trump in the next election if the public thought there was a corruption investigation into Biden's son. When he got caught by the whistle blower the aid was finally released to the Ukraine, but that is not relevant because a bribe does not have to be successful to be against the law.

To be clear I think the majority of politicians in the USA are corrupt, they sell themselves to corporations and turn the USA into an oligarchy, unfortunately this is not against the law in America. But what Trump did is against the law, plain and simple it is bribery, to get assistance from a foreign official for personal gain.

So in conclusion I think what will happen here will be similar to what happen with Bill Clinton, Clinton was impeached by the House but the Senate did not remove him from office. Same thing will happen to Trump, he will have the honor of being the 3rd President in US history to be impeached but he will not be removed from office because the Senate will not vote him out, since the Republicans are nothing more than a bunch of corrupt oligarch's peons who would rather see the country burn than follow the rule of law.
