News from DDR 2.0 - Some ideas to make Germany poor again

Hi,

today, on the radio the socialist minister of finance (why would somebody sane let the finance minister to a socialist) announced a new tax on trading shares. It is not a very high tax, but it only hits the German companies or European ones as 10 countries discuss about it and all might apply it.

The proposal stipulates that the tax shall be applied only to internal companies with a market value over 1 billion Euros. So, if I want to buy a Continental share for example, I need to pay a tax, buying one from Magna (Canadian company), competitor of Continental will not have any tax on it. This can be the conception of a narrow minded socialist. So the market value and trade of Continental will be punished as a local company that has 244000 employees worldwide of which 73000 in Germany.

I think this is outrageous.

Socialism always failed, Stalin's, Mao's, Lenin's socialism failed, Hitler's socialism also failed (even if it was national socialism it was socialism at it's roots). Why do we have to repeat all the time the same error?

Now that the leadership of the ex-second biggest party made a left turn, we can expect to come with more such genius ideas. Another brought idea was to have a tax on fortune. 1% a year if you have a fortune over 2 mil €.

For Munich this is nothing. An old lady that has build or bought a house in Munich the 50-60, will now have to pay every year at least 20000 €. The left will say that she can sell and move to somewhere cheaper, but the same people will argue if you want to raise the rent to someone who is living there for 30 years for 100 € a month. I'm not saying that rent is not high, I pay it also, but it is my choice.
I want to see how that person will give 20000 € every year.

Also it will affect every economic endeavor, especially the production industry, research centers and many more where the initial investment and the intellectual property value is high.

One of Germany's motors is the manufacturing industry. A production line costs around 2 million € if it custom made with mold tools together. Just because one has this line in house needs to be forced to pay 1% of the value.

Socialism economics does not make any sense. It only encourages the lazy ones and punishes the investors. In the end a lot will move to friendlier economic places.

Freu Dich auf noch mehr Quatsch von der SPD. Man versucht ja dort, unbedingt nicht gewählt zu werden, z.B. indem man die Vermögenssteuer wieder einführen will

Dear @alexvan

Thanks for sharing that news with us. I absolutely didn't know about this tax being introduced in Germany. I can only assume that most EU will follow (willingly) or will be forced to follow.

We're clearly slowly entering recession and if not because of Central Banks - entire world economy would be already in huge trouble (it's just going to get worse, but recession has been "postponed" by those entities).

And it's clear that many countries are looking for ways to collect more taxes and to increase financial control. Interesting times ahead of us, wouldn't you agree?

Why do we have to repeat all the time the same error?

Because socialism is failure from "regular population" point of view. But it's very tempting way of ruling. And socialism will be coming back like a boomerang (each time whenever old wounds would heal and those who "remember" are already old or gone).

An old lady that has build or bought a house in Munich the 50-60, will now have to pay every year at least 20000 €.

WTF. Seriously? That would indeed force many people to sell whatever property they have. Jezz...

ps. are you from Germany yourself? Im your Polish neighbour
Yours, Piotr
