A little exercise with texturing / Małe ćwiczenie z teksturowania

Well, looking at my works, I can definitely say that texturing is the worst part of my skills. UV mapping, seams... wrrr. and this long-lasting Baking. If only everything could be dealt with procedurally;)

Well, I can say ... without good texture, there is no realistic model. Basically, texture often does most of the effect ... Displacement maps save a lot of work in terms of detail. Not to mention the performance.

In any case, that's why I decided to take on this difficult art and try to slightly raise my level of knowledge in the field of texturing.

The first fire was the rusty metal barrel and the detail issues at the edges.

For this purpose I found a very nice set of nodes called Mask Node. Working really nice :D

The effect of the work with, fast environment setup below:

Patrząc na moje prace, zdecydowanie mogę powiedzieć, że teksturowanie najgorzej mi idzie. Mapowanie UV, szwy wrrr ... i to długotrwałe Bakeowanie. Gdyby tylko wszystko można było załatwić proceduralnie;)

Cóż, mogę powiedzieć ... bez dobrej tekstury nie ma realistycznego modelu. Zasadniczo tekstura często robi większość efektu ... Displacement maps oszczędzają wiele pracy ze szczegółami. Nie wspominając o wydajności.

W każdym razie, dlatego zdecydowałem się podjąć tę trudną sztukę i spróbować nieco podnieść swój poziom wiedzy z zakresu teksturowania.

Na pierwszy ogień poszła była zardzewiała metalowa beczka.

W tym celu znalazłem bardzo ładny zestaw węzłów o nazwie, Mask Node.

Efekt pracy wraz ze zrobionym na szybko środowiskiem, poniżej:

I hate doing image textures as well but sometimes you just have to XD

At least if you are not a super hyper procedural texture master. But then you have to bake them anyway for other softwares 😁

I suppose I really should learn how to bake procedurals to make renders faster, but I'm just so lazy ^_^;

And if you can teach me how to make tattoos like this procedurally I would love to know :D

Well, for that you probably need an AI node XD Maybe in blender 20.2.3 ;)
