The Change

Of things that we know of,
Of things that remain unknown,
This yellow pigeon brought with it,
Life to the dead land.

Glowing in affection,
The attention that brought happiness.

Surely this must not be it,
It just can't be.

Strange how it is,
To set out searching,
Only to find what you sought,
Right next to you,
Been so,
Always.

Things change,
People do too,
Yet this shall never.

A jar of memories,
That shall eternally bask with freshness.
