The Healing Rain #Poetry

avatar

I stood in the rain
Wishing away the pain
Holding on to the sound of it's power
Washing down the sins of men like me.

I let myself sway invisibly
To the music it plays
When dark clouds rip open
How it seemingly soothes my broken.

I embraced the uncountable drops
That chose to die at my feet
Their cooling effect recalled some teardrops
While reconnecting me back to nature.

I saw the trees dancing
Moving to the beats of the strong winds
They swayed to the tunes drizzling
Down their green majestic trunks.

I stood in the rain
As dry laundry getting soaked again
Danced from their hanged positions
Flirting shamelessly with the cold breeze.

I marveled upon the crying skies
Rimmed by shining horizons
Sinking into the bluest yonder in the East
Looking in from the West.

I felt some type of unexplainable healing
Standing there in the way of the rain
Enough to wish away more of this pain
That keeps me going back to listening to my demons.

This was inspired by real life events. After a day writhing in pain due to a stomach bug that made it impossible to keep anything down every half an hour, I decided to go to my chillspot and then it started raining. It was a fun twenty minutes.

It's my joy to also report that I am way better now :)
