The Mountain Path...Original Poetry

The Mountain Path

Twisting between beauty, green and lush,
arcing over dips, then under swells.
Richness of splendors-- thick and plush,
tumbling through dale, swale and fells.

Now wide, cheery... welcoming groups,
then narrow and hazardous to all.
Smooth and grassy, chainless loops,
then coarseness, a stone-strewn brawl.

Laced with vines and menacing fronds,
splaying colors and birds of call.
Sunshine celebrates through lucid wands,
summoning dancers to the ball.

High above temple, roof and town,
then plunging to moist muddy earth.
Touching heaven and drawing light,
equal parts: doom and mirth.

Challenging brave at the mountain peaks,
soothing the weary at cool crossing streams.
Languishing in summer when thunder speaks,
beguiling rich and poor... and their dreams.

Conqueror of man's need to explore,
leaving us with wistful visions.
Always pulling us to go for more,
tying hearts in impassioned prisons.

Conquering the untamed realms of Earth,
with soft cut ribbons of nakedness.
Coming from Eden, 'fore anyone’s birth,
thrusting us back to relatedness.

Nice poetry, yes, the path of Life can be a "bumpy road" ;)
