A Step Closer To Home (An Original Poetry)

Tomorrow,
is a new journey
of uncertainty;
as we're strolling home,
closer and closer,
grey hair, revealing
the miles we have covered
coming through
alongst narrow and miry lane
unseeing seen things

The joy we sire,
births days of gloom
once we thrive on innocence,
washing naked
by the village stream
our memories replayed
like a tape in black and white.
and moments became years
that flew past
in an eye's twinkle

We're buried in thoughts,
like sand domes.
reaching life's peak
but our bones are weary
of frightening heights
for once, laugher was food
that feed us through
the hungry days
and now those days, dead
as boughs in winter

We're afloat,
across kingdoms
through the thriftiness
of our benign minds
regret a stubborn seed sown
convulsing our very essence.
we're trapped,
too curious to know the other side,
a temporary excursion
but alas, we're ringing
flatline, steady and still
with no heartbeat.

You capture the malaise that seeps from the heart when depressive thoughts hit home here Jose.

Lines like:

The joy we sire,
births days of gloom
once we thrive on innocence,

&

laugher was food
that feed us through
the hungry days
and now those days, dead
as boughs in winter

Really express those feelings of innocence lost and regretful musing on the past that afflicts us when we're in that state of mind.

There is a kind of unsettling nostalgia in this poem. It is a sign of poetry done well when it makes us feel deeply like that, even when it is the darker side of life.

Nice poem m8!

Exactly there @raj808 in this poem I express the fact that we've missed good old days, nowadays it seems like we're doing everything for nothing, other than the days when it was all fruitful and interesting, it's basically a sad poem that expresses how one miss the old days.

Thanks a lot Ade, poetry is an expression of the soul, in this piece I expressed how we've missed the good old days and how the experience of nowadays is something that doesn't thrill us. Thanks for reading
