Crimson Trickster

Sly you were in this deception
For me to sip that murky water.
Your glimmer
Your charm
The Witch you are
That scratched at my heart.

This cloak around you
I see is now a shroud
Not to hide a soft interior
But a decoy
A ploy
To draw near those
Who saw with desperate eyes.

A spell so intricately woven
Three years it took to break
And what a shame
You left the door open
For me to come right back
And slip this poison
Into your own cup.

Turning away from alabaster eye's
With this warm hand you offer me
I see your tricks, as the illusion
Of life fades into pale fingers.

I should have known you were dust
From the grave
A simple mistake I made
In calling to an entity unprepared.
Surely, She sent you
To teach me discernment
Only now do I see your Shadow
Lit up by the Crimson Trickster.

Turning away I slip a drop into the chalice
That I know you freely share
Hoping that the blood you've collected
For your Queen
Rots before it reaches the Heart.
You wanted to play
But surely you'll never win.
I stand in for ever Sin
To pull you down by your neck
And break your Ego's precious image.
