Lots of Oregano!

Today I wanted to share with you all my Oregano bushes that are growing in a ~1.6 gallon container. Same with my other herbs and spices, I'm not entirely sure the exact day that I planted these but as you can see they are already filling up the container quite nicely.

Oregano is used quite a bit in my family especially when we make any kind of food that involves some pasta. I personally use it a lot in my cooking. You can consume this herb either fresh or dry and its very popular in Italian cuisines.

Oregano is a perennial plant that prefers hot and dryish climates, although many keep the plants shaded for most of the day and give it roughly 2-4 hours of light. If you live in the north, the plant acts as if it is an annual plant due to the fact that Oregano really doesn't like cold temperatures. A single oregano plant can grow roughly 2-3 feet in tall and about 2 feet wide with adequate soil space. What's interesting about this herb that separates itself from others is that it's quite resistant to pests.

Of course, my oregano plants are very cramped in this container, I don't plan on selling them to my neighbors. It's my first time growing this plant so next time I will definitely take into consideration the spacing of the plants. Perhaps I'll throw a few seeds in instead of like 20 in one container. It looks just about ready to harvest, but I'm going to let it keep on growing and see how bushier it will get.
