Ice Ice baby

I have shared a shot of the fountain in a couple of posts of recent, one taken with my phone and one in my Intentionally Black post

The title is from the Vanilla Ice Song. and I will include it at the bottom of the post, its funny most times I struggle to come up with a title for a post and sometimes they just come to me while looking at the photos when I song comes into my head.

I do love the fountain in Bryant Park when it freezes up and has icicles, but that only happens when the temp is well under freezing point for a few days and of course, also means a good walk in the cold to go and see it, I could, of course, take the bus up 42nd Street, but I hate taking the bus during the day when the traffic is crazy and actually moves slower than I do walking

And the other sid eof the fountain this time in B&W, there were some nice icicles, but i have seen it even more built up with icicles previous years, and may well again this year if we have ( as I suspect we will) another bitterly cold spell.
most of the fountains in NYC shut down over winter to avoid the risks of the pipes freezing and bursting, for this fountain in Bryant park, they pump warm winter through the fountain to avoid that risk and it creates these cool icicles on it.

is it just me or when doing a post with a few photos like this one once you get about halfway through, you struggle to know what to say between shots, I am solving that problem by asking this question?

All right Stop! Collaborate and Listen! Mims is back and think your fountain glissons. The images grab a hold of me tightly. While the water is probably froze daily and nightly!

Kinda know the feeling, sometimes my comments just flows sometimes note lol. you inspired me to be inspired!

Are those photos from you grab bag or did you take them this year? I don't feel like it has been cold enough yet this year for it to bet that icy! The ice fishermen around here are going nuts. It's really hurting the local economy actually.

No these were from last week, we have a few days where the high was around 20F enough for some e to form
Apart from those few days winter has bene fairly mild this year but it may come with a vengeance yet

The ice photos came out beautifully. I love the glimmer of the sun on the ice and that is one awesome fountain.

Wow, that’s what I am talking about! The photo of the full fountain is so perfect, I must save it on my hard drive. When I was in Bryant Park, there were just a few icicles, now it is amazing!!! Full of icicles. Awesome.

The song matches the post perfectly ;)
The orange color of the fountain and the icicles look very good together - these icicles are so clear and clean as glass.

I in all my time in NYC have only perhaps done two lunches at real restaurant with people, now I am being flooded with invites from people wanting to jhave a lunch with me, that to me is !DERANGED but I cant say no to them LOL

Ohh yeah thats part of why I dont like going to restaurants, takes the whole lunch hour to get ones food, and when with others I cant wolf the food down and get out of there as quick as I like to so my walks will be less and less and weight will be more and more LOL

Oh, I feel so sorry for you ;) lol
2 years ago, when I was still smoking I ate very fast too, just to go for a cigarette as soon as possible, but since I quit smoking I don't eat that fast anymore andtake my time, because I hate to sit in a restaurant doing nothing but waiting for the others to finish eating ;)

see thats something I never learned after giving up smoking I have this strange mental block I can eat for 7 Minutes then I can't eat anymore, so if with a group and were all talking I will hardly eat much at all, I know it sounds !DERANGED that I know its 7 minutes but it was my step son and daughter in law who noticed it a few years back, and I found out they had noticed it when our food arrived and I noticed one of them start a stop watch app on their phone and wondered why, after I finished eating and curiosity got to me i asked what they were timing and low and behomd it was me, and they had done this the last few times we ate out and it was always within seconds of 7 minutes I stopped eating LOL

7 minutes sounds like a short time, but I think when I eat inout canteen I don't need much longer for the whole meal. They don't serve big portions though ;)

Ohh thats 7 Minutes with a full size restaurant meal, when I grad from the deli, I am normally in grab the food pay for it, eat and out within probably less than 7 mInutes

Ok, I cannot beat that for sure, but I am also fast ... when I go for lunch with the colleague next to my office I am normally completely finished before he has finished his soup, but that does not mean anything, because he eats so slow, that almost everybody is finished long before he starts eating the dessert ;) lol

You have the four season with all its beauty! Icicles... wow! Amazing and beautiful... and it must have been below zero for water from fountains to freeze like that! Well... I really do not know ... I forgot everything about that from grade school... 😂🤣😁

Ohh yeah it was 5 or 10 degrees below freezing point maybe more for the water to freeze like that to cold for me but I had to go check it out
