Hey, such steemit people, as I have told you before, I study integral design, so they are always sending me to do interesting and sometimes crazy practices, but that is the great thing about design that there is enough field to experience.

Today I come to show you what was a delivery I made for the subject of Typography. Then I show you what is the guideline that the teacher gave us and the results that I generated from certain concepts and visual elements.

ESPAÑOL:

Hey que tal gente de Steemit, como ya les he contado ántes yo estudio diseño integral, por lo que siempre me están mandando a hacer prácticas interesantes y aveces locas, pero eso es lo genial del diseño que hay bastante campo para experimentar.

Hoy vengo a mostrarles lo que fue una entrega que hice para la materia de Tipografía. Acontinuación les muestro lo que es la pauta que nos dió el profesor y los resultados que generé a partir de ciertos conceptos y elementos visuales.

ENGLISH:

Image Transition exercise + sound + typography.

Design of song covers for YouTube thumbnails.

Pattern:

• Through images, they must be analyzed visually and associated with a song of their choice.

• 6 images will be available which must choose 3 and associate songs one for each image.

• Make a typographic composition with the title of the theme and the name of the author, creating promotional posts (one for each image) for the YouTube platform (1080p (HD) - 1920 x 1080 pixels).

• They should represent the typographic composition within the context and emotions of the song.

• Perform an image and typography work together.

• Maximum use of 3 sources.

• Play with the source at the level of contrast and form.

Example: use dry stick with serif or Display and serif.

• Apply some gestalt law in the composition of the typography (minimum one law).

• Briefly explain the generator concept used.

ESPAÑOL:

Ejercicio de Transición de imagen + sonido + tipografía.

Diseño de portadas de canciones para miniaturas de Youtube.

Pauta:

• Por medio de imágenes deben analizar a nivel visual y asociarla con una canción de su gusto.

• Se dispondrán 6 imágenes las cuales deben escoger 3 y asociar canciones una para cada imagen.

• Hacer una composición tipográfica con el titulo del tema y el nombre del autor, creando post promocionales (uno por cada imagen) para la plataforma de YouTube (1080p (HD) – 1920 x 1080 píxeles).

• Deberán representar la composición tipográfica dentro del contexto y las emociones de la canción.

• Realizar una trabajo de imagen y tipografía en conjunto.

• Uso máximo de 3 fuentes.

• Jugar con las fuente a nivel de contraste y forma.

Ejemplo: utilizar palo seco con serif o Display y serif.

• Aplicar alguna ley del gestalt en la composición de la tipografía (mínimo una ley).

• Explicar brevemente el concepto generador utilizado.

ENGLISH:

Image 1 selected from the guideline: Butterfly

Selected song: Imagination - Foster the People

Typefaces used: Thinging of Betty for the title of the song and Bebas Kai for the name of the singer.

Gestalt laws applied: continuity, contrast.

Concept:

For this image the selected song was Imagination by Foster the People, this song is at its best expression of how being in love generates a lot of thoughts in our imagination that express what we would like to do with that person. The song talks about how the singer imagines how he dances and shares with the girl and asks him to freely express what he feels since it is known that the two are attracted to each other.

In the composition of the cover you can see how the butterfly part of the main image of the pattern is used as a compositional element and is repeated numerous times, generating together with the other elements a collage, shows how the butterfly arrives extract the nectar from the flowers and they fly away, which represents the flowering, change and transformation of the thoughts in the imagination, some that just as they arrive fly like the butterfly.

Concepto:

Para esta imagen la canción seleccionada fue Imagination de Foster the People, esta canción trata en su máxima expresión de cómo al estar enamorados se generan una cantidad de pensamientos en nuestra imaginación que expresan lo que nos gustaría hacer con esa persona. La canción habla de como el cantante se imagina como baila y comparte con la chica y le pide que exprese libremente lo que siente ya que se sabe que los dos sienten atracción uno por el otro.

En la composición de la portada se puede observar como la mariposa parte de la imagen principal de la pauta es usada como elemento compositivo y es repetida numerosas veces, generando en conjunto con los demás elementos un collage, muestra como las mariposa llegan extraen el néctar de las flores y se van volando, lo que representa el florecimiento, cambio y transformación de los pensamientos en la imaginación algunos que así como llegan se van volando al igual que la mariposa.

Selected song: Location - Khalid

Typefaces used: Blackside Rust Bold Italic for the title of the song and Thinking of Betty for the name of the singer.

Gestalt laws applied: repetition, contrast, continuity.

Concept:

For this second image, select a song by the artist Khalid called Location. Which expresses mainly of two characters that are separated, the protagonist in this case the singer tries to communicate with the girl who is the second main character, asking him to send her location so that he can look for her and take her to a place where the Two can be alone and enjoy a night together.

Use the image of the sunset as a compositional element for the background that accompanies the image of the artist, I changed the tones of the image from oranges to blues to be able to combine it much better with the image of the artist, thus achieving a harmony in the composition and generating a contrast with all other elements of the composition showing a focal point which perfectly highlights the performer of the song.

Canción seleccinada: Location - Khalid

Tipografías utilizadas: Blackside Rust Bold Italic para el titulo de la canción y Thinking of Betty para el nombre del cantante.

Leyes de Gestalt aplicadas: repetición, contraste, continuidad.

Concepto:

Para esta segunda imagen seleccione una canción del artista Khalid llamada Location. La cual expresa principalmente de dos personajes que están separados, el protagonista en este caso el cantante intenta comunicarse con la chica que es el segundo personaje principal, pidiéndole que le envíe su localización para de esta forma poder el buscarla y llevarla a un sitio donde los dos puedan estar solos y disfrutar juntos de una noche.

Utilice la imagen del atardecer como elemento compositivo para el fondo que acompaña la imagen del artista, cambié de naranjas a azules los tonos de la imagen para poder juntarla mucho mejor con la imagen del artista logrando así una armonía en la composición y generando un contraste con todos los demás elementos de la composición mostrando un punto focal el cual resalta perfectamente al intérprete de la canción.

Selected song: Blinding Lights - The Weeknd

Gestalt laws applied: proximity, contrast, continuity, similarity.

Typeface used: Bebas Kai

Concept:

For the first cover select this song by the artist The Weeknd since the title is translated as "Blinding Lights" so that with it you can establish a relationship between image and song taking into account Luz term.

The song expresses how the artist is in the process of overcoming a love break, although he has not yet achieved his goal. The phrase of the title "blinding lights" is mainly used in the song to refer to a girl who still keeps the main character blinded in this case The Weeknd, the song talks about how this light although it is no longer next to he still keeps him blinded or enlightened, and he can't sleep anymore because he keeps thinking about her manifesting so he still misses her.

Using the image of the candles as a background and incorporating it into the artist's lenses, a more dynamic composition was created, in which you can see how the artist is upside down to represent metaphorically how this blinding light turns his mind around. All this complemented with a typographic composition that contrasts with the background hierarchizing the name of the song and accompanied by the performer.

Concepto:

Para la primera portada seleccione esta canción del artista The Weeknd ya que el titulo se traduce como “Luces Cegadoras” por lo que ya con él se puede establecer una relación entre imagen y canción tomando en cuenta término Luz.

La canción expresa como el artista se encuentra en proceso de superación de una ruptura amorosa, aunque aun no logra su objetivo. La frase del título “luces cegadoras” es usada principalmente en la canción para referirse a una chica la cual aun mantiene cegado al personaje principal en este caso The Weeknd, la canción habla de cómo esta luz a pesar de que ya no se encuentra junto a él aun sigue manteniéndolo cegado o iluminado, y que ya no puede dormir debido a que sigue pensando en ella manifestando así que aun la extraña.

Utilizando la imagen de las velas como fondo e incorporándola en los lentes del artista se logró crear una composición más dinámica, en la que se puede observar como el artista esta de cabeza para representar metafóricamente como esta luz cegadora le da una vuelta a su mente. Todo esto complementado con una composición tipográfica que contrasta con el fondo jerarquizando el nombre de la canción y acompañado del artista interprete.
