(Edited)

I keep on updating you about all these celebrations involving Nature or fantasy things... How could I miss "INTERNATIONAL FAIRIES DAY" which is celebrated today 24th of June?

And here just a poem I wrote.... maybe it will become a song... who knows.
I don't see winged fairies in my garden but I do believe in the spirit of Nature and I believe in magic, that thrill that keeps us bewildered and wondering about things like a child.

There's a world in between
but to find the way in
first you must learn to see
how the light gather in beams
how the shadows drift then shift
revealing what's unseen

And in my slumber dreams come rushing in
the veil is tearing at the seams
I'm rising from the floor in endless spin
like a leaf than never settles in the wind

What's your favourite fairy tale?

Priscilla Hernandez Spring Fairy - by priscilla Hernandez (yidneth.com).jpg

I love fairy tales, since early age I've collected illustrated fairy books. In many ways they have inspired also my music and artworks. One of my favourite fairytales is "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" from Norway. It's very similar to Eros and Psyche Greek Legend with kind of a "Beauty and the Beast" retelling being the "Beast" a Polar Bear who is of course a cursed Prince.

What's yours?

Hello Summer

And the air is full of wings
let your worries flow downstream
there's a world in between
and to find the way in
first you must learn to see

And remember if you believe in fairies, CLAP CLAP CLAP very hard :) that is what J. M. Barrie wrote in Peter Pan.

These past few days we've been on a roll, celebrating the welcome of Summer (Solstice was the 21st) and then MidSummer Celebrations all over the world. Last year I shared this video that honours the Latvian celebrations of Midsummer (it happens the night of 23rd of June). I recorded it in honour of my steemian friend @lindahas and shared it last year. I share it now as soundtrack of this post as Līgo was precisely yesterday. This tradition includes bathing in the creeks and lakes, wearing a floral garland, worship Nature and the gifts it provides and I'm no Latvian but I fell in love with it and did this.

How did you all spend the Summer solstice?

Last year I already made a post about LITHA / Summer Solstice
https://steemit.com/life/@yidneth/blessed-litha-summers-solstice-2018-06-21-22-06-25

We are halfway through the Wheel of the Year!

Just like All Hallows Eve they say they are days where the veil is thin and you can actually see the world fairy world ;-) and other worlds in between and beyond wink! :) Me and @hedac went out to a National Park and I did indeed bathed in the river and enjoyed the beauty of Nature in the most gorgeous landscapes, but that I'll leave for next post (It was the longest hike of my life, barely catching my breath)

Until next, keep the magic alive in your heart!

What are your plans for Summer?

Let me know in comments!

Besides healing my spirit in the green and bathing in creeks and ponds I want to organize to finish the artworks of my third album, among so many pending things that need tending and finishing. But there will be still time for leisure in the woods which has become in a way part of my work to (to remain inspired) Blessed LITHA (Summer solstice)

Happy Summer Solstice Yidneth! Belated that is. Happy to see you again. Loved your poem and it definitely sounds like it could be a song in the making :P

Talking about songs, I love the one you shared at the end.

I can't remember too many fairy tales from my childhood. Aside from what movies share, wishing there was more to it. But if you ask my what my favorite magical movie is, that would still be Labyrinthe :P

Awesome post Yidneth, hoping you make the most of what this season brings.

I have been around though less, still I always was a slow poster and now a tad bit slower, but not really gone :)

thanks the song at the end is a traditional folk Welcome Summer (Ligo is the 23rd of June) but also the celebrations of the Midsummer in general in Latvia @lindahas knows best about it, she's the Latvian friend who encouraged me to check folk songs from her country :)

Yes I love Labyrinth, in fact I know how to play all the songs, I should make a blog post about it. I am also friends with the designers of Labyrinth movie and actually know the baby as adult XD

I wonder if anyone's life is perfect, though what I share here is very TRUE it's the the whole truth. And I explain, we all surf through our struggles and our misfortunes as well, life is a balance of light and shadows. I have a wonderful partner, maybe health and economy are a bit messy at the moment, but I do enjoy Nature and creating my own magic. So we all have our doses of luck and our doses of challenge. :)
yes, same here, sadly I have not much time, I restricted my time networking entirely it was so much discord that I barely had any sleep, but i'm always at reach and I always find my way back. Thanks so much.

Gosh, @yidneth <3 That is a beautiful poem (or song) ! And I love the photos, also, they are definitely gorgeous and suited for International Fairies Day :D I dont know what's my favourite fairy tale, it's hard to choose one, but I kinda like the ones that are a little dark, I guess... There's something in tragic fairy tales that just appeals to me, hahaha... I think I've drawn Nezha, the Chinese Lotus Prince, a few times as I've posted them into Steemit, and I'm not sure if he counts as a fairy tale, but I think he fits... as he is hidden in a family of mortal folk, even though he's actually a Prince :) His body is born out of Lotus flower, and tragically, he died early because old fairy tales sometimes are a bit cruel and they don't always make perfect sense.... hahahah

Anyway, always love Priscilla's posts <3 Beautiful Queen of the Rats <3 !!!

I wrote it from memory and it has another verse but I kind of forgot it, I'm humming the subtle melody it had when I first wrote it to see if that second verse comes up once more :) maybe I'll give it a proper shape.
Yes the Chinese Lotus Prince is a fairy tale, all myths, legends and magical creatures are :) Same with the Snowbride, she melted in Spring :(
Hail back sweet friend

I guess every day is the day of something, in fact yesterday which is fun, it was also the FLYING SOUCER DAY LOL though I prefer the fairies hahaha XD It's not intended that I keep posting about days but they're all related with nature and fantasy which are the ones I celebrate and know about.

Took me all the way to that middle photo to realise you were wearing a giant flower 😄

If it’s any consolation I had no idea there was an international fairies day but I’m completely unsurprised and now I know 🙃

The poem sounds like they would be excellent song lyrics if you end up going that way.

haha yes it is a "pansy" flower cape :) my friends from El Costurero Real print them :) I'm fortunate to have it :)
hahah It's not intended, I mean everyday is the celebration of something I guess but I guess I remember those related with environment and fantasy, in this case I could not track down who founded it but it's been celebrated for quite a while.
