Hong Kong... Nice Cars, Ugly Houses

avatar

Hong Kong is a strange place for me. Most of the time I got the feeling that its residents care more about having a nice and clean car than a nice and clean house.

I mean... just take a look a these photos:

The houses architectural style is already ugly enough. On top of that the buildings are usually very dirty due to massive pollution... and there are also a lot of AC units and electrical cables hanging everywhere.

It's also quite common to encounter a wide variety of cars, ranging from really bad to really good. Old and new cars are parked side by side and what they have in common is that they are usually clean, as you can see in the above photo.

However, in this place there was a very nice Nissan 350Z parked next to a very dirty car with a flat tire. That one almost seemed to be abandoned.

I hope you enjoyed these photos.

That is ridiculous. Why they have nice cars could be because they produce cars overy there. I think they should now focus on their architectural structures.

Ahahhahh! I guess they don't care so much about the houses because most of them are rented. If the landlords don't care, the tenants do the same. 🤣

But this is only a feeling. I'm not sure abut it, really.

Yeah, but they don't seem slightly worried about that. 🤣

that's why we thought it as a strange one because we don't know the story. But you're correct, it's strange. They must focus on their house first before vehicle. You can go to other places without vehicle but you can't have a proper sleep without a house. Well, I'm talking about the future. Their house might be destroyed because they're too focus on vehicle.

From what I know, most of the houses in HK are rented. So that must be the reason the tenants don't care about the outside look of those buildings.
