A Quick Walk around the Yard

A few days ago I went over to feed my landlords puppers, and on the way I noticed an interesting cloud formation. Of course by the time I fed the dogs and went back to retrieve my camera, the clouds had drifted off.

Not to be dissuaded I noticed some wild flowers in the garden out front.

Sunflowers!

image.png

And some purpley thingies...

image.png

Imagine a swarm of tiny lavender butterflies upon a flower..

() image.png

a few candid photos of sunflowers at a garden party

() image.png

doing drunk selfies.. what a lark!!

image.png

I noticed these sparkly firework grasses

image.png

with a delicate rose colored bud..

image.png

Then moved on to some evergreen berries. I think this is Juniper?

image.png

another multi-colored berry bush

image.png

A grove of shady trees offers relief..

image.png

Next I wandered over to the side yard, where I it looks pretty much like a giant weed patch when I'm in gardening mode.

image.png image.png

There I discovered a playful swirly vine wrapped like a lover around a dead flower stem.

image.png

The nice thing about looking with my other eyes is this gives me time to slow down and take in details

image.png

and to reflect on the incredible imagination found in nature.

Upon investigating a patch of white horehound

image.png

I spied a bee nomming a bit of sweet nectar

image.png

perhaps leaving some pollen traces which will bear fruit in the future.

Such pictures! Much enjoyment!
The last bee picture came out really well with the really close up shot!
The multihead sunflower might be a black oil seed sunflower, or it might be an ornamental type, it's hard to say. If someone feeds the birds close by, it's probably a black oil sunflower, dropped by a bird.

I love, love love it! Thanks for bringing us with you. :)

Bees are the bestsuch misunderstood, beautiful lil' pollinators. <3 Gettin' up close and personal with them is one of my favorite things, ever.

Hola @torico.

Wow - that's an incredible treasure you found in the yard! I feel like I'd have to walk quite a bit further to find something similar to this :D

His name should be Flower. I love the breed, but my dogs are all house dogs and my complains about shedding. And yes he was a great hook

Taking photos makes us more observant of the beauties and details around...and then the mundane becomes full of wonder !😊
