Here is a view of lake Keystone, just a half mile South of the homestead.

I was out at the homestead today, and took a few pictures of the North most leg of the lake. I drove a half mile South to the lake, and almost stayed, LOL!

Nice stand of willow trees, perfect camping spot!

The sand was warm and soft, perfect place for a tent, because the sand would be comfortable for sleeping. The trees would be ideal for tying up a boat too!

Here is my new favorite fishing spot:

My chair will fit right in with these bushes! I could almost hear the fish calling me....

Here is a view downstream towards the dam:

The dam is about 20 miles East, and is hydroelectric as well as flood control. Last year, these Willow trees were mostly underwater controlling a 100 year flood.

If we go upstream to the west, the lake goes another 25 miles. There should be enough water here to slake my fishing thirst, LOL!

Especially when it's close, LOL! Nice to have for prepping, so close to the new homestead. I may even spend a little time there....

It was part of the reason I bought this land. The land around the lake is Corp of Engineers land, so it is public use land. I will plant several things that need no tending there, as back up food supplies.

What's the beautiful!
You are lucky to have such a beautiful nature close.
Silence, beauty and tranquility!
Soothing pills are not needed :-))))))

It was part of the reason I bought there for sure! When we got out there yesterday, it was so nice; I slept in the driveway a little while, then unloaded.

I look forward to local fishing, LOL!

I have been enjoying it thus far! It will be a good place to live, if things stay running, and also if they don't....

So, I'm set either way!

I plan to find out, LOL! But it feels right, Very Inviting.

My requirement is that it had to be paid for in full, day one; so we own it outright!

It is beginning to feel like home.

Dang that looks good sir smithlabs. You got a boat?

Pontoon boat, and a canoe I want to add an outrigger and a sail too. I also still want to build the bucket boat (BB) design I have drawn up. The BB might be a little light for Keystone though.

What's a bucket boat?

I want to build a boat that uses 5 gallon buckets for flotation. With 20 buckets I can lift almost half a ton (830 pounds to be exact). I will connect 5 buckets to four pieces of wood, and bolt them to a platform making an "H" pattern. I will have four more under the platform itself. The unit should be stable like a pontoon boat, and will break down to fit in my car.
