What focusing range is ideal for your street photos? I'd really would like to know your answers, feel free to submit.

I am so shy, that telephoto lens works better for me. This was shot with my 150mm Sigma tele-macro. You dont have to come closer or ask any permissions, being in the public space and not being annoying paparazzi...

I have problems with taking photos of people. I hate asking their permission and I feel uncomfortable if I don't ask their permission! I've got around it by blurring them out or not showing their faces. 😊

I hate to photograph people, this is why I even don't take many photos in the city, but I want to work on that problem and will try to do some street photography next year ... or maybe the year after next year ;) lol

Your idea with the telephoto lens was great and I like the photo @qwerrie, although I have to say that you are a very bad boy who must have had too many !BEER before you took this paparazzi photo ;)

And you deserve a !DERANGED $trdo anyway :)

well, I cannot but disagree with this statement, !BEER will not help as much as !DERANGED tele-lense ;)

this is why I even don't take many photos in the city

hmm, intresting to know that... why do you feel like that, if I may ask? human world, the cityscapes, mutual human relationships, the beauty of the bodies and faces, this surely deserves out attitude and attention. or?.. ( personally, I am shy and scared to approach people... )

Good morning @qwerrie 🙂

You gave the answer yourself: personally, I am shy and scared to approach people… 😉

I used to photograph people a lot many years ago, but these were the times before smartphones came out and everybody could take photos everwhere. In these days almost everybody smiled when he or she saw a camera, and nobody thought of the internet with facebook and other social media platforms, because they did not exist then ;)

Nowadays everybody who gets photographed thinks his or her photo might be seen on facebook. At least I do, and I do not like to get photographed myself ... and I do not like the !DERANGED facebook ;)

This is, why I prefer to photograph landscapes, although I cannot tell a landscape to smile ;) lol

I wish you a wonderful Sunday @qwerrie 🙂

thank you, my friend.. well, that was an usual assumption... folks really have this in their minds, we cannot blame them. almost everyone who I take a photo - if he has such an opportunity - ask me back totally the same question: what is my purpose of doing the pics... nobody smiles back, nobody is thinking to look better on the pic I am making :/ not sure if it is FB to blame... not in my country where I live, thats definitely not the case.

heh. you cant struggle the wind, or the water, right? so using tele- is a good option. !BEER also may help, at least we have to try!!

:)

may I take a bit more of your precious lifetime?
yesterday i've came around two great videos from 1920-es.
AS I am a big fan of the history and the XIX th century I was fascinated to see this is captured and exists.
one is shot in Russia during the Civil war of 1920, 14 mins
it may be a less of importance to you (but it is my land, my history!..)
https://filmcentralen.dk/museum/danmark-paa-film/film/hvor-der-kaempes-mod-bolschevikerne

another is some clipping of Paris citylife.
in colour (!) and supported with a music clip I loved very much, too
haha, I already have grabbed it to my HD :))

why I remembered about it in our talk: in the 1st video there are few scenes where the people pose behind the camera... charming moments. they never used to it, its completely different as today.. funny moments... and also note the work of videographer: he is acting totally as a photographer! (I believe, all of this was shot from a tripod, as well).

ok, I hope it would be a bit of intrest to you. blessings!
@len.george, @fareast-history - check these links as well, I believe you may enjoy it too.

Blame FB and all other social media, where anybody can post anything and does not need to care about the rights of others.

Unfortunately, the first link does not work, but I know, what you mean. In these days photographing and videographing was something so very new and exciting. Everybody, or better said almost everybody loved to be on a photo or in a film, I assume. Also, I think people have been different too, because since we are always connected via internet and smartphone we don't need to meet each other anymore.

I love these days now, because as I am how I am I prefer to stay mostly somehow unknown, if you know what I mean ;) ... but I do handle it all with care.
You might be a serial killer ... I might be a serial killer, who knows? ... I'm not, I'm just a bit !DERANGED and maybe today even a bit more, because this morning was the first frosty morning and although I wanted to go out for a walk it was tooooo cold for me ;)

oops. sorry. my bad. I corrected the 1st link,
https://filmcentralen.dk/museum/danmark-paa-film/film/hvor-der-kaempes-mod-bolschevikerne

and yeah, I am a serial killer, you guess it right: I kill coffee in large amounts, on a regular basis! and I hate !BEER, always kill it whenever I see a bottle :))

Thank you :)
These times were so different and the people as well. I don't know, if I would have liked to live then or even before. We are always complaining about too much work and so little money and that our lifes are so bad. See these smiling soldiers who don't know if they will still be living tomorrow. People then had a hard life and they worked more for less money, but at least on photos and in films they laugh and smile much more ;)

Thank you and have a great Sunday @qwerrie 🙂 ... and don't kill too many !BEER today, because tomorrow morning begins a new work week ;)
