California 2013 - Mesquite Flat Dunes [EN/DE]

After leaving Zabriskie Point, the road was leading us deeper into the national park. After a short drive we came to an area where we could see from far huge dunes of soft sand in front of massive mountains, an impressive contrast.

Nachdem wir vom Zabriskie Point aufgebrochen waren, führte uns die Straße tiefer in den Nationalpark. Nach einer kurzen Fahrt kamen wir schon an eine Stelle, von der aus wir riesige Dünen aus weichem Sand vor massiven Bergen sehen konnten, ein beeindruckender Kontrast.

These dunes are known as the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. We parked our car and enjoyed the panorama for a while. Of course it´s very hot and dry and you recognize why this is Death Valley.

Diese Dünen sind als Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes bekannt. Wir stellten unser Auto ab und genossen eine Weile das Panorama. Natürlich ist es sehr heiß und trocken und man merkt schnell, warum das Death Valley genannt wird.

Unfortunately, this was our last stop at the National Park, since we still had to drive few hours to reach Lone Pine, our destination for the night.
But even by car you can experience the best views in this endless landscapes, especially when the sun goes down...

Leider war das unser letzter Stop im National Park, da wir noch einige Stunden fahren mussten, um Lone Pine, unser Ziel für die Nacht, zu erreichen.
Aber auch mit dem Auto kann man die besten Aussichten in dieser endlosen Landschaft genießen, besonders wenn die Sonne untergeht ...

Danke, liebe Elfe. Ja, das bin ich tatsächlich, allerdings nur als Besucher, hauptsächlich im süddeutschen Raum und eigentlich nie mit Hut :) Daher werde ich das wohl eher nicht sein, oder? LG
