Home Depot Series

avatar

Yesterday, I took my latest toy, a vintage Helios manual lens, to the outdoor nursery at Home Depot. It has tarps across the top but still lets in natural light...and rain. It started to rain when I got there.

Once again, I'm surprised at how little attention people pay to someone crouching down in the drizzle trying to focus on flowers and shrubs while keeping out of the puddles. Neither store employees or other "customers" seemed to pay me any attention.

I'm posting these images for #BeautifulSunday, created by @ace108 and #SublimeSunday created by @c0ff33a

Thanks. I think the lens is capable of more, but I need practice.

They have plants indoors, but the light is so much nicer in the outdoor nursery. They had some small, live trees where I went, but the larger, cut trees are in an area in the parking lot.

Did you buy your new toy at the Black Friday sale? 😊
Are you glad that you were left alone to do your thing, or were you disappointed that there wasn't an audience. 😊
Beautiful photos Jon. Love them.

I ordered the lens before the sales, but used points from my Amazon credit card to cover most of the cost. I’m glad nobody paid me any attention, especially the employees. Actually, I get so wrapped up in trying to frame an image that people could be pointing and staring behind me and I would never know it.

Thanks a lot. Sounds a lot like "Marina Series" though. I wonder where I stole the idea from. ;-)

Awesome photos, that must be a really good lens. I think when you have a “proper” camera people just assume you are doing work
Photography. When I point my phone at stuff people give me a look like I have gone totally potty. I have been asked before why I was taking photos of leaves on a bush lol. !COFFEEA

Thanks @c0ff33a! The lens and camera help, but I really think it's in the eye. When you point your phone camera at leaves on a bush, you're seeing beauty that others hurry past and miss. !tip
