Run and gun pinup photography w/ Miss Victory Violet!

Good evening, Steemit! I’m holed up in my office, finishing some editing and filling my brain with fiction fodder from muses like Jordan Peterson, Slavoj Žižek and Will Self, parsing lectures on Communism, hierarchies and the ineffectiveness of Hegelian dialectic in practice […extra credit if you can assign each to their corresponding philosopher/psychologist/intellectual]. I’m putting together my own “How Steemit impacted my life” post as prompted by @theycallmedan. Much of this search for knowledge and understanding, in my life at least, is a direct result of my time on Steemit […especially during 2017].

Alright. I’m not going to focus on that too much tonight because it’s a blog post that’s already being formulated. As much as I’d like to sit, draw, write and think, I do have work that needs to get back to clients that’ve been waiting patiently for several months. That means pinup photography and that’s what I’ll be sharing tonight. As I mentioned, I’m on the New Zealand/Australia catalog of shoots this week […and probably next], and after my epic visit to Hobbiton while in Auckland, an experience you can read all about in my previous post, “My birthday at The Shire!”, my friend Ella and I stopped for a spontaneous photo shoot.

Sadly, I forget the name of these gardens, and we had to speed there to make it before they closed. It was a public space, and although the short time to shoot was stressful, the advantage was it being almost completely empty. Ella is a world class hair and make-up artist, and pinup blogger. She’s an incredible model and we’ve shot together several times. That was a benefit because from the moment she stepped in to the garden space, we were making stunning images. One photo of her leaning back on a pool may be our favorite photo we’ve ever taken together. We managed to get in, shoot and get out in under 25 minutes.

Thanks for reading! I’m really happy to finish this set of images as it was certainly one of the gems from the trip to the other side of the world. Beautiful dark pinup photos I’ll always keep, and comforting memories with a great friend. I’m getting this blog on the blockchain a few hours earlier than usual, so I’m going to try and get some writing on the novel, or a few hours on a comic project I’ve been chipping away at. We’re all gearing up for @vermillionfox’s birthday party this week as well. Hope you enjoy the work. For more photography, follow me here @kommienezuspadt!

What do you think is important in a portrait? We have different styles, of course, but I'm curious to know for creativity's sake. I have an infatuation with night portraiture, though I haven't had many chances to test everything. One thing I'm sorely lacking: a tripod.

Is it weird that I have a fascination with citrus in artwork and even decor? There is something ancient and sensual about this fruit.

I've been following her for some time, between her blog and insta. So cool to watch her grow and progress - she really is world class. These images are beautiful, especially that middle one. Stunning!

Oh, and Happy Birthday to @vermillionfox!
