Sunshine on a gray day / Sonnenschein an einem grauen Tag

What a depressing day - does the rain never stop?

Was für ein deprimierender Tag - hört denn der Regen nie auf?

It's dark, gray and rainy outside, but in the morning it looked like it would stay dry today. The weather report has said that it is getting better today. But whoever believes the weather report, is his own fault.

Another day I just do not feel like going out, and because the day is so depressingly gray, I have to post a few photos of the last sunrise that I've seen before the rain: Sunshine on a gray day.

I have already reported several times of my hike to the Hochstadel peak, and I have already shown some photos of the sunrise, which I was allowed to experience all by myself.

Von meiner Wanderung auf den Hochstadel habe ich ja bereits mehrmals berichtet, und ich habe auch schon einige Fotos von dem Sonenaufgang gezeigt, den ich ganz allein am Berg erleben durfte.

I also like the soft mist very much that has just formed down there in the valley. I have some close-ups of that, which I would like to show in another report.

Hopefully at least the coming weekend gets dry enough that one can go out without having to wear rubber boots.

I have learned to carry the sun in my soul, for there are only so many days that I can do without it! :)

The first picture is amazing, the sun so brilliant that it illuminates the golden shine across the skies. What a brilliant capture! All of them are stunning artistry of your beautiful country and your camera reflects the vision your eyes could see.

I never believe the weatherman! When I lived in Europe, I always carried an umbrella, boots, a bucket, and a shovel, plus a sweatshirt in my car. I wasn't even a Girl Scout! I was just prepared. I had gotten caught too many times!

Thank you for the beauty and have a great day!

Your comments are the best - you know that Denise, don't you? I love them and I have been missing them while you were gone ❤️

It is raining since last week in the east of Carinthia and in the west it is snowing. Many roads are closed because of the snow or landslides. Fortunately, here where I live, it is only raining, but at the moment I couldn't visit my parents if I wanted, because all around the roads are closed or it would be too !DERANGED dangerous. So, I have already used all the sun I had stored in me - none is left and I need to recharge it ;)
Enough of moaning ... hopefully the weekend will be better, because me and my camera are in urgent need of a photo walk, and if the sun does not shine we will go anyway 😉

Where did you live in Europe to need a bucket and a shovel? This cannot have been in Slovenia ... or somewhere deep in an unknown valley maybe ;)

Thank you for your overall nice comment and the !tip Denise, I wish you a great day too 🙂

Haha! The bucket and shovel were for flowers interesting plants in the forest. Or, I am always planting something on the side of the road.

:)

I lived in Germany, Italy, and Holland... and spent a month at a time in other countries.

So, you have planted all these lovely flowers aside the roads? I have always wondered, what nice kind of person would do such a hard work and plant all kinds of flowers on the roadside ;) lol
You have told me once, that you have had a good time in Europe, but I didn't know that you have seen more of Europe than most European 😉

I wish you a great day Denise 🙂

Stunning photos @johannpiber , I just love 1st and 4th photography.
On first you captured sun just rising above the mountains, so first rays touched the top of the rocks and foggy river is still in shade.
On forth , first rays of the sun are in the valley colouring river and rising fog.
Just amazing 😯

I like rain too @wakeupkitty, I like rain, I like fog, I like bad and stormy weather, but today is day thirteen, and that's too long, that's just too much of it.

@johannpiber I don't like rain. It hurts my skin, always did and before it starts raining I suffer from pain in my face. Always had that. The humid is bed for the joints. In a country like the Netherlands it is no fun to get old. Many leave go to Spain or stay there during the winter months.

Fog... We already have that since weeks. Interesting is the weather forecast seems not to spot it. On the country we have no weather?

0

That's bad for you, and I am sorry that rain is painful for you @wakeupkitty.
So, the humidity is bad for the "joints"? Did you know, that drugs are bad too? Could it be, that some of your problems are results of consuming drugs? ;) lol

Fog is no weather, fog is fog and fog belongs to the November, but you are right, our weather forecast tells us, when they think there will be very dense fog.

@johannpiber I know everything about drugs and for sure I have the results of that, striae and painful kidneys and a big chance a part of my auto immune diseases are caused by it too. Besides of that I am healthy. Never smoked, never been drunk, hardly drank coffee in my life,no candies, soda, fast food and perhaps once in my life had the flu.

@johannpiber If you drank milk you had drugs too. If it comes to lifestyle, meds you never know how it works out or how it affects you. Six months after my birth I ended up in hospital heavily malnourished and came out with all kinds of allergies, eczema and probably the first auto immune illnesses were triggered. I have them for 35 years or longer and according to the specialist I should be dead about 35 years ago.

Btw joint issues are common if you get older especially with females same with auto immune diseases. I assume being female means you have a certain DNA that is no fun. ❤️

0

I think I have to apologize @wakeupkitty, because I thought of drugs when you said "joint" at first, because we call a Hashish cigarette "joint".
When you now said "joint issues" my brain translated right and I know now what you meant. I am so sorry and please forget that drugs thing 😢
I have been so lucky in my life, because I have no allergies or so and I have never been seriously ill and you have had such a bad luck that the only luck you seem to have is that you are still alive ... that's not cool.

But I have to say, that you are wrong with one thing: when I drank milk as a child I did not get any drugs, because our milk has come every morning fresh directly from our neighbors cows and sometimes I even milked them myself ;) lol ... but I know what you mean with that and you are so right, of course.

!BEER

avatar

@johannpiber Oh, yes I forgot about that joint. No worries. 🤣 Good for a joke will remember it and tell the doctor.

I milked cows too but hardly drank milk in my life. I doubt there was a special reason for that since I grew up with "Joris driepinter" commercials. The boy who promoted 3 glasses of milk a day. I guess I was not find of the taste and later agreed that if you had to suck it out of the cow with your mouth you probably not drank it. My brother in law is an exception. He would crawl through the field and underneath that cow. He is the only extremely crazy about milk person I know.

Drinking water is an issue too. The government wants us to drink from the tap and increased the tax on water you buy...

Happy day Nd stay healthy. ❤️

I loved the milk directly from the cow - fresh and warm :) ... and I still love to drink milk although the taste is not like fresh milked.
We have also had our own vegatables and got the meat from the farmers.

We hardly buy water and drink mainly from the tap.

I wish you a great day too @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber No fresh milk tastes like water. Has a blue shine over it plus it is spoiled within 3 days. Once on a warm day it already was as I arrived home.

I never drink from my tap. I have my own well. I use the water for cooking etc, drink it after it's cooked but do not trust the ground plus what the farmers around me use. I removed 2 trucks garbage out of my garden and daily find more. It is/was a habit to shovel it underground. If you walk or pass by in your car they spray right into your face.

Fresh milk from a cow is delicious - I do not know, what your cows eat. Fresh milk is thick and has sometimes a sweet taste - but this depends on the grass the cow had, or where the meadow is, because the milk tastes different from cows which spend the summer on the mountain pastures.
And we drank the milk during the day, because we got fresh milk every morning ... and we had a fridge ;)

OK, if I was you I wouldn't drink that water neither, or I would invest in a good filter system.

Have a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I teferred to the fresh mik they sell in.shops these days.

I think, it's different here, because our milk still tastes good, and the cows are out on the fields and meadows. You still have wild cows, such as there are still wild horses in France? I have never seen a wild cor before, and of course non of their poop ;) But the poop of the cows on the farms, also of the cows on the milk farms look quite as it always did.

Really? Wild cows? How cool is that? But cows need to be milked as far as I know - maybe they drink their own milk ;) lol

Again, I wish you a great weekend @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber What makes you think cows need to be milked? They need to be milked as many times as women, dogs, cats and each other mammal. Cows only give milk for one reason. If that reason, their calf, is over/grown up the milk is gone. That is nature and the way it is meant to be. The rest is what humans do to animals and we could call that animal abuse. 🤔

0
0
0.000
avatar

So, you mean, that they don't produce milk if nobody milks them daily? I have no idea, because I have never heard of wild cows.
Of course you might be right if you compare it with calfs... but as said, I have no idea, apart from that our cows were breeded to give milk, even without calfs.

!BEER

0

@johannpiber A cow can only/start giving milk after she had a calf. The calf is taken away and instead of the calf machines take over the job. The more you milk the more milk they produce. If you slow it down it will be less.

The only thing I know is they bred all kinds of cows to give more and more milk. We had the "milk lake" and "butter mountain" in the Netherlands (too much but it was never cheaper for us) now the pigs and cows have to go because of the environment (an increase of nitrogen) and more houses can be built. Happy weekend.

That's what I do know too, but I wouldn't say it using such harsh words. Maybe Austria is different ... or has become different in the past years, because you can see more and more "Bio" products ... chicken have lots of free field to have fun, pigs are running around instead of living in cages, the cowa spend the summer on the mountains... 🙂

I wish you a happy weekend too @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I cannot say I see much difference. Since the cow madness of years ago we hardly see cows outside. The farmers have open stables and they can go out by themselves but prefer to stay in the stable. They seem to like 18C best and warm outside or cold they do not like. The stables are warm plus there are massage tools (?). You can kick them outside for the scenery but if they don't want.

Since years we can only buy bio eggs and those shops we have at least for 40 years or longer. Partly it is fake too, same what supermarkets sell. A free chicken is a chicken not in a cage but free is different. They are still packed close on each other and get shots to prevent illnesses. If you do not do that and they get ill you can clean them all up.
Food can still have the brand bio if pesticides are used but they are only allowed to use certain kinds and till a certain percentage.
I had chickens myself. To be honest my eggs didn't taste better and I don't know what is hidden in the ground and water either. Some were always fighting and they looked terrible as I bought them. I never saw pigs play except some of the neighbour, saw them hung upside down too after being killed.

0

I do not know the Netherlands and their farms, but I would suggest you to make holidays on an Austrian farm to see the difference.

Our Bio chicken live outside, but they have to stay in the chicken coop over night, because of the foxes, and even now in December the cows go still outside during the day.
This is one side, but the other one are egg farms and meat farms, just as you said. They still exist, of course, and as long as the people buy the cheap meat they will exist.

Have a nice Sunday @wakeupkitty 🙂

!BEER

@johannpiber it is not about the cheap meat only. Neither the costs for the animals. You can not have these farms everywhere people don't like it plus the chance/risks of diseases increases. The taxes are sky high. The Dutch government wants to buy out most farmers. Instead of "smelly" animals we will have smelly people. I hardly eat meat and only know with us it is extremely expensive and you mainly buy water. Shopping in Germany saves a lot money.
Who knows I can visit such a farm once. For now I only drive to Austria or sleep on a parking lot in my car. ❤️

You see me speechless ... ok, you don't see me, but you might be able to imagine me sitting here with an open mouth and don't know what to say.
A lot must have changed since I was last in the Netherlands, but that has been in the eighties ;)

@johannpiber I think it depends on where you live. I am happy I no longer live in Rotterdam or Amsterdam and my children not grew up in these cities. If you are rich you might have a better place to live where you are not confronted with the life outside.

@johannpiber Your memory is 30 years old plus we remember what we like to remember or like to see. My memory of 30 years ago and 40 years ago is different too and I still do not understand what happened with all those kind helpful people I lived in between for years who hate me now and spit on me, scold at me and molested my children. Societies change.I can remember as I was a child it was normal to have a poster of the party you voted on during the elections behind your window. If you do that now there is always a group or someone who beats you up. 🤔

The world has changed and people have changed too, @wakeupkitty. And sadly, much has changed to the bad, like the things you are telling me.

What I do miss most at the behaviour of people is Respect. There's no respect anymore, and that is very sad, because that was one important thing we have learned when we were young. And I don't mean to respect the elder, I mean respect in general. There's so much ignorance and hate these days, that I am glad when the weather is fine and I can go somewhere where I can be alone.

Have a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

!BEER

@johannpiber I think the lack of respect is a world wide problem. I do not know when it started or what caused it. Perhaps envy but governments and media play a big role in it. You are not free to discover and make your own opinion. I stopped watching tv years ago. Year's it over 10, perhaps even 15 years. I seldom listen to the radio (only on a long drive and to stay awake), the last time I read a paper newspaper is even longer ago. If I read headlines the newspapers use these days I feel miserable. The world is a better place without media and people. That is the main reason we seldom visit anyone, stay home and live far away from other people.

I do not think the world will change. It will get worse and the attitude is to blame the generation before. For long media, government brainwashed generations baby boomer (born 1945-1955) consume all social help, have all benefits, etc. Now "suddenly" turns out this is not the case at all. So the big mouths who wants those who rebuild the country, the economy after the war dead turn out to be the lazy pigs with most benefits themselves. Not that it will change anything since the years of brainwashing already did their job. The same it does with so many things.

I do agree with a lot you are saying @wakeupkitty, but no twith everything. I think if you don't inform yourself via more than only one medium, which might be the internet in your case, you will not receive the whole truth. I do hate the headlines too, but it is important to know.
Every generation will blame the older generation for things which went wrong. This has always been and will always be, where I especially mean the politicians after elections. But they do not try to repair what has gone wrong - they blame and they make something completely different, what costs a lot of money again.
I should not moan, I should make it better, but I am too lazy for that and I could never make politics ;)

@johannpiber I never blame(d) the generation before us. I am not sure if the politics do..or told the people to do so. My culture (well 50% of it) has no respect for elderly/earlier generations. 🤔

I don'tthink the truth is told by the media. We hear what they want us to know and the same news you hear in 4 countries told in a completely different way All the news you can find from one oress bureau and that is what we hear, the rest is a bad translation or subjective translation/opinion of someone who found it on the internet.
I don't think there is a need to know everything since if it comes to it most of us are too lazy to change something or fight the lies. Since generations we believe what teachers, employers, media tell us. Even if we want it is hard to be objective. Happy day. ❤️

@johannpiber Thank you. I go from cold to cold I guess. The Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary are all celebrating winter and there is not much difference. I hope to stay in a warm hotel, warm car and end up in my warm bed. Happy weekend. 💕

Winter is cold - I hope it gets colder and everything around will be white from the snow.
I know you don't like the cold and hope you will find nice places to keep yourself warm 🙂

@johannpiber Without children and animals I would be at that place and stay there. Now even the memory does not keep me warm. Good we have warm water bags, benied and blankets. 😁

@johannpiber that would be nice. Well the sun shines in Germany on the A3 traffic jam so it is warm. Happy day. 💕

We have had a few very nice days too, but today it is overcast - never mind, because during a work bad weather does not matter so much to me ;)
Have a nice day too, @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber Happy day to you. I enjoyed the fog in your country yesterday. Someone tries to break my neck because I own SBI who knows within 48 hours I have rep 0 too. See my latest post.

You drove through Austria? Cool :)
Yes, we had a very foggy day yesterday and there was no sun to see in the valley. Today seems to be the same, but I'm going to take some photos anyway ;)

You are not alone, dear @wakeupkitty, he downvoted two of my latest posts too. Now I am using the command that SBI does not upvote my posts and it worked yesterday.
Did you send someone some SBI share? That's what I did - I sent 5 SBI to the number 12 from last weeks league results and this might be the reason for the two 100% downvotes.
So, next Sunday I won't send SBI, but maybe Steem or/and other tokens to the lucky number 12.

I don't think your reputation will go down, because the Steem Community is awesome and we are helping each other as much as we can.

Have a great day @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber Yes, usually I drive the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary in 24 hours but the never ending mess on the German highways came in between. If possible I look for a hotel for some hours. If not I need to sleep in my very small car.

All 4 countries in 24 hours? That are quite a few kilometers you are driving in such a short time @wakeupkitty. I have never slept in my car before - I don't think it is very compfortable, although it is a family van.

@johannpiber I did it for years, and several times a year. The sleeping is not more as passing out for 1-3 hours and drive on. Some drive it faster as I make it in 13-14 hours including sleeping. I find that hard to believe. Germany is under construction for at least 10 years and you are not allowed to drive faster as 80 and some spots 60 km/hour.
My children sleep the biggest part so I am the one who needs to stay awake. Happy day. ❤️

Please excuse me for being so curious, but why are you doing this? Just driving around or do you visit relatives and friends or do you have special places for holidys you are going a few times a year? I am sorry for my !DERANGED questions, but now you have made me curious.
The german highways (Autobahn) are the fastest in the world. I know, there are construction zones as we do have them too, but it cannot be that bad, but you must know better, because I haven't been north of Austria for quite a while ;)

I wish you a great day too @wakeupkitty 🙂

@johannpiber I am staying with my daughter now, brought her food, arranged things like I needed to do and let my car fixed. Tomorrow we go for the two youngest their new ID I think I need to come back for that. So actually we are a family again for a few days.

You can always ask. If I do not like, can or want to answer I will tell you. Enjoy your day. 💕

Sounds like a complicated family, but I don't mean it in a bad way, just complicated, but maybe our family life is just too easy ;)

I wish you happy days with your family @wakeupkitty🙂

Howdy sir johannpiber! That first shot is amazing! It could be on a big wall or as a poster or as the cover of a magazine. That fog down in the bottom of the valley looks like a big river almost.

In autumn you can always expect such fog in the valley below - sometimes it goes as high up as almost to the mountain pasture.
Thank you for your nice comment and that you like the photos, my friend, I do really appreciate your compliments 🙂
