In addition to snow-covered mountains and snowy forests, ice is one of the most beautiful things that winter produces.

Neben schneebedeckten Bergen und Wäldern gehört Eis zu den schönsten Sachen, die der Winter hervorbringt.

Zadnjica Valley . Triglav National Park

The most important requirement for ice is, of course, that it is cold, and in the Zadnjica valley in Slovenia it was cold enough last week, at least in the shady areas, so that some ice could form at the stream.

Voraussetzung für Eis ist natürlich, dass es kalt ist, und im Zadnjica Tal in Slowenien war es letzte Woche zumindest in den schattigen Bereichen kalt genug, so dass am Bach auch etwas Eis entstanden ist.

Unfortunately it has been too warm lately for a lot of ice to form, which is why I was twice as happy to be able to take at least these photos.

Leider ist es in letzter Zeit trotzdem viel zu warm gewesen, als dass viel Eis entstehen hätte können, weshalb ich doppelte Freude hatte, zumindest diese Fotos machen zu können.

The Zadnjica valley is partly shady, which is why it remained cool enough on these warm days that these small icicles remained frozen.

Das Zadnjica Tal liegt zum Teil relativ schattig, weshalb es dort auch an diesen warmen Tagen kühl genug geblieben ist, dass diese kleinen Eiszapfen gefroren blieben.

I just wanted to turn off the computer for today ;)

The iced tree looks nice, doesn't it? I wanted to get closer to have a better position but the water in the river was too high and I couldn't get on the other side. So I could only use the telephoto lens.

Danke dir vielmals - leider habe ich dort wirklich nicht mehr Eis gefunden und diese Eiszapfen waren eigentlich mehr Eiszäpfchen 😉

Es ist aber in den letzten Tagen viel kälter geworden, und obwohl ich erst im Frühjahr wieder dorthin fahren wollte, kann es sein, dass ich nächste Woche mal einen kurzen Ausflug nach Slowenien machen werde ;)

Ja, eine solche Temperatur wäre eigentlich optimal, nur im Sommer könnte es zwischendurch ein paar Tage heißer sein - da hätte ich eigentlich nichts dagegen und ich wüsste ja ein paar klare Bäche und Flüsse zum Abkühlen ;)

That's what I love here on the blockchain - I can see so many pictures of things and scenes which I cannot see here where I live and which I will never be able to see myself.

Yeah, I have seen such thumbnails several times here and thought this might be a nice idea, and I won't have the problem anymore to decide which photo I use as first photo, because Steemit shows it as thumbnail. And after making a few of these thumbs I think I'll stick with it and continue to do it this way 🙂

Ice is always fascinating for me and I love icicles as well as such iced areas beside a waterfall. Unfortunately there was not so much ice around because of the warm weather.

The first icicles reminded me of a hairbrush, and the latter are very similar to icy leaves.

These were the only icicles I have found that day, because it has been too warm, but since it has been quite cold the past few days there might be more by now. I will see when I go there next time.
Rain is not goot, but maybe it gets cold too and you'll have a lot of ice 🙂

I would either say, that the coming years will be the snowless Winters, but snowy Springs, because I bet it will snow in Fabruary and March, if not in April too.

They didn't last longer years ago, but the seasons have changed it seems.
Usually in March the snow was almost gone, but in the past few years it has been snowing even in April.

Well last winter was unusually severe and broke many snowfall and temperature(cold temperatures) records so this year people are thankful that it is mild or normal. But it is not usual that our country is normal in anything. lol.
