Großglockner (3.798 m / 12,461 ft)

Austria's highest mountain was very close. The sun had just risen high enough to brighten the peaks.

Here you can see the Grossglockner, seen from from the peak of the Hochstadel mountain, on which I have been about a week ago. With the 70-200mm lens I was able to zoom in very close to the highest mountain in Austria.
From the other mountains I could only identify the summit on the far left, which is called Glödis and is 3,206 meters (10,518.37 ft) high.
In the foreground you can see a part of the ski area Zettersfeld above the city Lienz.

The picture below shows Lienz, the district capital of East Tyrol.

I thought the name was familiar! So, it’s the highest peak in Austria! Very beautifully capture! Gosh! I wish I had your camera and lens! But I wouldn’t know how to operate it, I only use automatic iPhone! Hahaha.

Been to Innsbruck long time ago, went on the mountains via cable car for a walk with a friend. Lovely mountains there!
These mountains are so huge and magnificent!

Thank you very much for your nice comment, dear @kaminchan 😊

Yes, the alps are really majestic and beautiful. You have been to Austria? Cool 👍 I hope you enjoyed your stay 🙂

My camery has also an automatic mode, but I don't use it though ;) Most times I use aperture mode for landscapes and let the camera decide the shutterspeed. With my smartphone I use the automatic mode too, of course ;)

Thank you so much @cezary-io, I was so glad, that I could take this photo because most times when I was up there it was too hazy or too cloudy to see so far 🙂

Thank you so very much, JJ 🙂
This is a mountain on which I want to hike up one day, but it's way steeper and the hike takes quite longer than my usual hikes ;)

Stunning mountains and pictures. It’s good to look at these ridges and peaks through the lens .. But try to climb one of the peaks ... good work ))

Thank you so much, @bambuka 🙂
Some of them are quite easy to hike, and you don't even need mountaineering equipment. On the Großglockner you can also hike up, but you need a rope for safety.

That is amazing. I assume I would have trouble getting enough oxygen or at least feel it since I don't ever go that high.

The air is not that thin at this hight - I didn't have any problems, but I do not smoke anymore ;)
