In addition to the hoarfrost which I hoped to see, I received a bonus, but I actually wanted to go somewhere else.

Zusätzlich zum erhofften Raureif habe ich noch einen Bonus erhalten, dabei wollte ich eigentlich ganz woanders hin.

The Linsendorfer See (lake Linsendorf) is actually only a side arm of the river Drau, which has been widened into a lake and is a popular place for swimming and sunbathing in the warm summer months. The lake is located in the village of Linsendorf near Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.

Der Linsendorfer See ist eigentlich nur ein Seitenarm des Flusses Drau, welcher zu einem See verbreitert worden und in den warmen Sommermonaten ein beliebter Ort zum Schwimmen und Sonnenbaden ist. Er liegt am gleichnamigen Ort Linsendorf in der Nähe von Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.

I actually wanted to go to the Drau reservoir, where I often go for a walk. On the way to the reservoir, I always drive past that lake and today I thought that I hadn't photographed there for a long time, and I was rewarded with beautiful pictures.

Eigentlich wollte ich zum Drau Stausee fahren, an welchem ich oft spazieren gehe. Auf dem Weg zum Stausee fahre ich immer am Linsendorfer See vorbei und heute dachte ich mir, dass ich dort eigentlich schon lange nicht mehr fotografiert habe, und ich wurde mit wunderschönen Bildern belohnt.

I wrote above that I also got a bonus.

Who can see the two cormorants sitting in the trees on the right of the island? I was able to zoom in a bit closer with the zoom lens, but I will probably only show these photos on the next #FeatheredFriday. The two big birds sat still there all the time, as if they were frozen on the trees.

Wer kann die beiden Kormorane sehen, die auf den Bäumen rechts auf der Insel sitzen? Mit dem Zoom Objektiv konnte ich sie etwas näher heranzoomen, aber diese Fotos zeige ich wahrscheinlich erst am nächsten #FeatheredFriday. Die beiden großen Vögel sind die gesamte Zeit über still sitzen geblieben, so als ob sie auf den Bäumen festgefroren gewesen wären.

I love hoarfrost and especially when there still are autumnal colored leaves on the trees, I find such pictures beautiful. This little detour to the lake was definitely worth it and I think next time I will stop here again.

Ich liebe Raureif und besonders wenn auf den Bäumen noch herbstlich gefärbte Blätter sind, dann finde ich solche Bilder wunderschön. Dieser kleine Abstecher zum See hat sich in jedem Fall gelohnt und ich glaube, nächstes Mal werde ich hier auch wieder einen Zwischenstop einlegen.

All photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM. I used the Haida M10 filter system with a CPL Filter.

These are incredible photos, @johannpiber. I absolutely love hoar frost. We get it here in Minnesota under certain conditions, but I have never seen it quite like this. I’m glad you mentioned the cormorants. I enlarged the photo to see them. They are spectacular. That is a photo you should submit to a mainstream photography contest.

I loved that calm and peaceful morning there at the lake and I loved this amazing hoarfrost. In this area there is always some hoarfrost in Winter, and sometimes even much more, but the Winter this year is much too warm and we don't have any snow apart from some little rests of it.

I loved that morning - calm and peaceful and all trees have been beautiful white from the hoarfrost. The water was very calm too, that the reflections came out quite nice.

I must admit, that I loved being there and taking photos. It was such a peaceful morning and all I was missing was the snow on the ground, but that didn't matter much. The river is near and because of the forest on the other side of the lake it stays very humid and cold, so that the frost can easily grow.

Das hat richtig Spaß gemacht dort - so friedlich und die Ruhe, die herrschte ... wunderbar :)
Ich war leider ziemlich spät dort und die Sonne hat schon hoch gestanden. Nächstes Mal werde ich früher hinfahren, um vielleicht noch ein paar schöne Strahlen und Farben der Morgensonne im Nebel einzufangen.

Richtig, darum versuche ich schon meine ganzes Leben eben nur das zu machen was mir Spaß macht. Das war beim LKW fahren so und beim Taxi fahren erst recht. Und nun mache ich auch wieder was ich will.
Wenn zu mir einer sagt: Du musst, dann drehe ich mich um und gehe.

War bei der Bundeswehr sehr schwer für mich.

Das glaube ich, dass das bei der Bundeswehr sehr schwer gewesen ist - bei uns heißen solche Dienste dann SamSon, wenn man zur Strafe das Wochenende über in der Kaserne Wache schieben muss ;)

Aber jetzt machst du das schon richtig - ich bin da zwar anders, aber ich finde es trotzdem gut, was du machst.

Oh ich war oft zur Strafe in der Kaserne und muss Wache schieben.

Da lernte ich dann auch in stehen zu schlafen :)

Das dachte ich mir gleich, als du die Bundeswehr erwähnt hast.
Die sind halt am längeren Ast und da muss man dann auch mal zurückstecken können, zumindest wenn man übers Wochenende nach Hause will ;)
Ist aber egal, weil lange her und vorbei.

Und heute sage ich mir, hätten wir damals schon Eier in der Hose gehabt hätten sie das mit uns niemals machen können.

Aber mit 19 ist man halt noch zu junge und genau das nutzen die aus.

Ich hatte ein paar "nette" Situationen, aber nach den paar Wochen Grundausbildung habe ich zur Logistik gewechselt und war grundsätzlich im Büro und habe nur den Morgensport mitmachen müssen, was mir aber eine große Freude gewesen ist und mir Spaß gemacht hat.

Bei den Übungen war ich dann Versorger und das tiefste Schützenloch, das ich graben musste, war etwa knietief und als ich mich hineinhockte und grinste, hat auch mein Boss gegrinst ;)

Insofern kann ich nichts wirklich Negatives sagen, zumindest was mich betrifft, außer dass ich fast jeden Tag zu Mittag meinen Chef (nicht der von der Übung) aus der Kneipe nebenan holen musste, aber ich habe genug gesehen und mitbekommen, um zu wissen, das das kein Beruf für mich ist.

Nun ich durfte meinen Führerschein machen und war dann in einer Transportkompanie. Das war noch einigermaßen erträglich. Highlight war natürlich immer wenn man einen Transport hatte.

Kam leider nicht so besonders oft vor.

Hat mich aber für mein weiteres Leben wohl geprägt. Denn es folgten 13 Jahre Fernverkehr :)

Das war aber auch wirklich das einzig Gute an dem Mist :)

The idea to stop there was one of my best ideas for a long time, because I loved to be there and if my wife had not been waiting with lunch at home I would have stayed for much longer 😉
But I think I'll visit this place very soon again, and next time I'll bring my long lens with me, just in case the cormorants are there again ;)

My feelings have been quite different - I would say I have been happy about the peaceful and calm scene there. If I had not wanted to take photos I would have sat there for hours, watching the birds swimming in the lake and the fog moving 🙂

Anyway, whether the photos make you sad or other people happy ... I thank you very much that you like the photos, @quotes-haven, and I wish you a good day and a great week 🙂

Beautiful hoarfrost pictures.
It looks like little snow.🤗
I struggled but eventually saw two cormorants. ..They look like statues on a tree.😉🤭
A nice area for walking and relaxing.

The close-up photos are not as close-up as I wanted, because I had left my long lens at home, but you will recognize the birds much better. Luckily they are not small birds ;)

Thank you so much for your kind words, @suzana72, that is really a beautiful area there and I wonder, why I haven't visited it for months. I will certainly go there again soon and if the weather gets a bit colder there will be even more of that beautiful hoarfrost.

Hey, this was almost a year ago and you still remember it - @gidlark, you're good 👍🙂

The M50 was a great camera and the autofocus was fast and perfect. My son didn't want it and so I have sold the M50. I still remember what they buyer said when he tested the camera. He said "wow, the speed of the autofocus is unbelievable". I don't know, what camera he had before, but that was also my first impression when I made my first photos.

I have changed to the EOS R after I have been in this snowstorm and the camera got frozen and iced. It worked fine, but I did not want to test it a second time. This was one reason to switch to the EOS R, but I also wanted a fullframe camera and I must say the EOS R with the L or the new RF lenses produces much better quality and sharper photos.

But I am already thinking that I was stupid that I sold the M50 and maybe I'll by a used M50 as backup and for videos or timelapse videos.

I might be a bit !DERANGED but not only I have a !BEER for you today, but also a !COFFEEA which I have bought at the !MARLIANS !shop 😉
