Foggy Sunset / Nebliger Sonnenuntergang

avatar

When I took these first two photos at the beginning of my yesterday's hike to the peak of the Dobratsch, I was still relatively confident that the fog would fade to the summit and I would experience a beautiful sunset.

A few meters further, even blue skies could be seen. The fact that the Dobratsch is a popular mountain for ski tourers can be seen from the many tracks on the slope. Of course it would have been nice if the snow had been without these tracks.

Unfortunately, until the summit, the fog became denser, until the view finally became so bad that you could not even see the a little bit of a sunset. When it started to snow, I decided to hike back down to my car.

Even though I could not take the sunset I had a beautiful and peaceful hike after a stressful morning in the office, and that's actually the main thing.

In this post there are quite a few trees to see. That's why I dedicate this post to the #TreeTuesday by @old-guy-photos.

Beautiful photos, so much snow!
I didn't feel snow flakes on my face for couple of years, I'm really missing proper snowy winter. Thanks for this wonderful wintery climate photos @johannpiber!
So sorry that you didn't get to see sunset on the top of this climb. But they say that weather in high mountains is like lottery, so better luck next time 🙂

Never mind the sunset - next time I might see one, as you say ;)
The weather forecast said it would be snowing up there, but I hoped they were wrong ;) lol
We hope for white christmas every year, but we haven't had snow at christmas for more than 10 years I think. This year we hope again 🙂

Thank you for your nice words @cezary-io, I wish you a great day 🙂

Higher up the mountain it was so foggy, that you could hardly see anything, but yes, I enjoyed the walk and taking pictures very much, @suzana72, thank you very much for your nice comment 🙂

Great view! I'm waiting for snow in my city.

Thank you so much @iawda 🙂
I don't like the snow in the city, because it means much chaos on the streets, and because the snow becomes dirty mud soon. But for a short time it is beautiful, of course, and on the christmas market I love it too 🙂

I partly agree with you that snow creates some inconvenience in the city. Although our roads clear quickly, we can easily get anywhere in the city. And the New Year without snow is not the same!

Christmas and New Year without snow is only half as beautiful. Especially white Christmas is something we haven't had for a few years. Hopefully this year it will be white.

You are right, the snow is removed very quick from the streets, but the people are driving just stupid sometimes when it's snowing, what means sometimes really chaotic traffic jams, and we have problems with parking when there's a lot of snow.

Very interesting sir johannpiber! Great look at the top with that transmission tower and the other structures. It looked very cold though!

Thank you @janton 🙂
It was not that cold, but later on the weather became bad and it started to snow.
Luckily we have been back down in the valley by then ;)

But you have the winter coats and hats and so forth so it doesn't matter if it gets cold does it?

No, it wouldn't matter much, but I still prefer to be in the warmth and out of the bad weather, because in the mountains bad weather can become very dangerous too.

When we were kids we had two small goats. Thes were so cute, but often they ran away and ate the salad in our neighbors garden ;)

Oh, the little goats tasted nice the next Sunday ;) lol

I'm only joking, but we had to give them away to a farmer, because they didn't only visit this neighbors garden - also the gardens of other neighbors ;) lol

Oh no...well that was probably fun while they lasted. Your fence was not good enough to hold them in?

There's no fence at my parents house, and the fences around the gardens are not real obstacles.

I forgot to greet you before ;) So: Good morning my friend 🙂

Yes, the railway pays quite good. I havent asked him if it's boring to spend the day waiting for trains passing by ;) lol
My sisters husbands work and they have enough money to live quite good - they all have houses, so they should make good money.
I am the only one who lives in an appartment, but I am also the only one who will be a millionaire if the Steem rises to the moon in 2020 🙂

Howdy again sir johannpiber! I am glad that your brother and sisters families are making good money. Someday soon you will own your own home too. Everyone over here goes WAY into debt to buy a home, is that what they do over there?

0

avatar

Many young people are in debt, because it is so easy to get money from the bank.
Nobody wants to wait and save the money, and I have to admit, that I am no exception, but the little money I owe my bank is nothing I couldn't handle: I just would have to sell all my !BEER and my debt would be gone ;) lol

0

Oh I see. That is unfortunate. I was hoping that it was different over there but it seems like the bankers have gotten everyone addicted to easy money loans. And then you are a slave to them.

0

I think it is the same all over the world - the banks have the money and they know they will get it back anyhow, that they will get much, much more back ... and the children pay until they are old.

Well the bodybuilders had artificial help too! Plus they started with tremendous natural genes that most people just don't have. And they didn't drink much beer. lol.

You didn't use enough steroids, that's the problem. Or else you would have been motivated and excited about the rapid growth!

Steroids, that's the word that didn't come into my mind. Yes, you are right, and a friend of mine used a lot of such a sh*t. His muscles looked good, but I didn't like how and why they grew.

Yes, that is some serious stuff and then they say you have serious health consequences later in life, at least in many cases. But Arnold had Dr. Colombo helping him with his so I think his weren't too dangerous.

I think, Arnold looks quite healthy for his age. My friend didn't take the steroids for a long time, so he doesn't seem to have any problems now.

I have made the same photo last year and I will probably do it again next year, if it still exists, what it should, because it's a nature reserve ;)

"Normal" skiers are not allowed, you can do only ski mountaineering, what means to hike up on your ski, and then ski down, but you have to use defined slopes.

Thank you so much for your nice comment @ninahaskin - I wish you a great day and week 🙂
