Photo 52 Week #9: Macro

Honestly, I wanted to do some flower macros, but I couldn't find a nice enough flower in the apartment. When I thought about taking pictures of some of the small cacti in my son's room, I found this piece of jaw bone as a decoration in the bowl with the cacti.

We found the part on a walk in the forest a few years ago and it has been in this bowl ever since.

Ehrlich, ich wollte ein paar Blümchenmakros machen, aber ich habe keine Blume in der Wohnung gefunden, die mir gefallenhätte. Als ich mir dann überlegt habe, ein paar der kleinen Kakteen im Zimmer meines Sohnes zu fotografieren, habe ich dieses Stück Kieferknochen als Dekoration in der Schale mit den Kakteen gefunden.

Wir haben das Teil vor einigen Jahren bei einem Waldspaziergang gefunden und seitdem liegt es in dieser Schale.

In my opinion, it should be the lower jaw bone of a deer.

Meiner Einschätzung nach müsste es sich um den unteren Kieferknochen eines Rehes handeln.

It is not the most beautiful photo motif, I know, and I have also cleaned the bone conscientiously, but the teeth could use an intensive cleaning again - by the way this is how the teeth of vegetarians look like ;)

Es ist nicht das schönste Fotomotiv, ich weiß, und ich habe den Knochen auch gewissenhaft gereinigt, aber die Zähne könnten wieder mal eine Intensivreinigung vertragen - so schauen übrigens die Zähne von Vegetariern aus ;)

All photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4L IS USM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.

I leave all EXIF and IPTC information stored in the pictures.

Now those were some different photo's. Flowers and bugs, pretty ordinary for macros, but jaw bones and teeth who'd of thought.

I have seen that thing between the cacti and just couldn't resist.
A flower would have been easier to photograph, a lot easier I believe, but always flowers and bugs gets boring. I didn't think these teeth would look so ugly on the photos though ;)

I think the discoloration adds a lot of character to the photo, and some depths of detail. If they were all pearly white I don't think they would have made such an interesting subject.

Yes, it's winter and apart from some orchids which I didn't want to photograph there was quite nothing around. I have seen this his jaw bone and knew this is it ;)

Ich habe es mir heute Morgen dann anders überlegt, mich wieder hingelegt und mir noch einen gemütlichen Tag zum Auskurieren gemacht. Jetzt sind natürlich in der Zwischenzeit einige Kommentare reingekommen und dann muss ich auch noch einen kleinen Beitrag für heute machen - aber ohne Knochen und Zähne ;)

Ich hoffe in Uruguay ist schönes Wetter - nach Regen und auch Schnee gestern hatten wir heute wieder blauen Himmel und Sonnenschein. Das bisschen Schnee, das gefallen ist, ist schon lange wieder weg ;)

Schnee! Habe vorhin eine Bild aus Darmstadt gesehen, darauf musste ich mir gleich die Webcams von Hessen rein ziehen und mir lachte das Herz, dass ich nicht dort unterwegs sein muss.

Hier waren es sonnige 29 Grad. Nachts wird es allerdings schon wieder ein wenig frisch.

Nein, morgen will ich ein paar Stunden ins Büro, dann schaut es auch nicht so blöd aus, wenn ich am Wochenende wieder mal was unternehme.

Webcams sind schon eine feine Sache und zusammen mit Google Earth kann man viele Gegenden schon vorher erkunden und weiß bescheid, wohin es geht, ohne jemals dort gewesen zu sein.

Ja, damals hat man noch angehalten und die Einheimischen gefragt, oder die Landkarte studiert und die Strecke auswendig gelernt und irgendwie wirklich überall hin gefunden :)

In Wien hat man mir erklärt wie ich in Athen zum Hafen in Piräus komme. Das habe ich mir gemerkt und bin tatsächlich angekommen.

Nun damals gab es auch noch eine Gemeinschaft unter den Truckern.

When I thought about taking pictures of some of the small cacti in my son's room, I found this piece of jaw bone

You know, when I go through my son's room I pull out all the dishes in the house that are supposed to be in the kitchen, and typically some socks and tshirts. I've yet to come across a jawbone. 😂
