Again Almost Sharp

My hunt for people on the streets continues. If my previous post wasn't humiliating enough for me, this, I think, will do the job. To boost my confidence, I may have to take some macro photos of objects that are totally in my control. Indoors, lights by me, nothing moving quickly.

I was waiting for this Nanso customer to look at me as I passed her, but she never did. She just hung there, keeping the door open, waiting for someone I guess. And my obsession on developing telepathic skills in one second, so that I could order her to look to the other direction too, ruined all other possibilities to take a better photo of this lady hanging on the door.

Almost sharp. At fist I thought that he was on the phone, perhaps writing to his Facebook that he is now here, at Keskustori, central square. But he's just counting his money, right there, in the middle of the street, like older people tend to do.

Almost sharp. It might be the too slow shutter speed or the poor choice of aperture. Or me. I think it's me. The operator of the camera. It always is. My fault.

Which one of these is updating their status on social media and which one is counting their money? Perhaps they both are. That girl has 50 bitcoin in her wallet and there she is thinking how to double that amount quicker.

It is possible.

Like it is possible that I one day get one decent and interesting photo of someone out there, wandering the streets.

I think no need to straighten these photos. It wouldn't do much of a difference.

Good. Something in this photo is sharp(ish). It would be awesome if both people were sharp. Then again it doesn't matter because DO YOU SEE THAT CHIMNEY GROWING FROM THE WOMANS HEAD? If you didn't, you do now. And you can't unsee it anymore and that's a problem.

I sure would like to hear this story. And I sure as hell would also like this photo to be SHARP!

DSC02358_1.jpg

Better, but not quite there. Oh when, oh when do I learn that deeper depth of field propably would give me more sharp photos. If the light is there, why not use it? Dumb ass me.

But I would still like to hear that story.

It's time for the last four photos. Or as I like to call them, a series of disappointments that show how puny human being I am when trying to capture the life and it's beauty so that other people would also see what I saw when that marvelous moment went by me on the streets.

DSC02393_1.jpg

Red haired lady with green coat. What an opportunity. Especially when I knew that just there, behind that corner, sun was shining from clear blues sky. And I loooooooove opposite light. Light on the background. Think of it! Strong light, me and my camera and a red haired woman in between us.

There was just one big problem.

As she passed me on the street I immediately noticed (same time as I noticed the red hair and green coat) that she walked really fast. Faster than I do! And that's pretty fast. I am a fast walker but obviously not when I'm not in a rush and if I try to, surprise surprise, take photographs. Good ones. Or at least mediocre ones that are sharp. Or otherwise special and interesting.

DSC02398_1.jpg

So I started nearly running. And took few photos. Had to decide quickly what to do. Do I just walk faster or try to adjust something on my camera and risk not reaching her and perhaps also trip and fall on the asphalt? But before I could properly decide what to do...

DSC02408_1.jpg

She was there, in the light and I was too far. And then she was gone. Walked to the shadows and left me kicking myself to my head. Again. That's something that happens a lot nowadays.

Almost sharp.

Not even that.
