Zombie Photoshoot: On the Rocks (Final)
The last installment! These are probably the strongest images from the shoot. I couldn't decide which one I liked the most, so I processed them all slightly differently.
Zombies. They eat brains. They rise from the grave, and they are part of the horror vernacular, no matter what sort of genre you're watching - be it B grade horror, or more serious stuff like The Walking Dead. I'm more of a fan of the shambling zombie, but when you get the chance to photograph some special effects make up, and someone willing to play "Zombie" - you don't say "No" to that sort of a Photoshoot!
This photoshoot took place at night, in an ancient graveyard, on a country ("outback-ish") road, North of Adelaide, in South Australia. Kelsey Burgers was the zombie, and I played the role of photographer. The special effects make up was completed by her family, and I have to say that they did an excellent job.
This was a very cold night-time shoot, and shots were lit by two static lights, because the Speedlights that I ordered did not arrive on time for this photographic expedition!
This concludes my posts for the Zombie Photoshoot! You'll get to see more of Kelsey's versatility soon!
Wow. That is frightening. Lighting is perfect.
Thank you!

I don't know man, I probably shouldn't but I really want a zombie apocalypse to happen. I know might not be the best thing for the human face, but still...If it was to happen I'd just roll with it.
The good thing about Kelsey is that she's a sensible zombie...Kept her socks in so she doesn't catch a cold. Smart.
I think it would probably be the best thing for the human race... it might improve the collective intelligence level of society, and importantly, brains would be valued.

Second pose is my favourite! Much prefer the lighting on the other two though, they were much moodier and more zombie-apocalypse-esque. The middle one is still pretty great though as it's kind of like the kind of discovery the intrepid explorer really doesn't want to make while exploring the place they really shouldn't have been in XD
I like all three of these. The lighting was fun for this one using external lights and stands that were (just) out of shot.

Good to see some of your photography...there are some good compositional elements going on in rocks + zombie.
Many Thanks! Much more photography to come. I've been shooting very regularly!

That's incredible! Very moving with the images of her holding the teddy. Having her on the rocks and boulders is just... eerie. I like it.
Thank you. Kelsey was a really good sport climbing into the rocks. It was not comfortable!

I bet it wasn't! End result is awesome though. Great idea!
can you believe i had that nightmare two days after i wrote that comment, zombies were coming to our town ,it was a little scary and funny dream , hahahha
Zombies are all put to bed now. Nicer pics to come, I promise :)
no no no they are very Cool ! , i just told you what happened , the effect of your photography to my dream :) it was interesting and funny , when i woke up .... holoz0r ! thought of you :D
The makeup of the model is very good, and photography says a lot about its history; the best pose is the first one, for many reasons, it is more natural and the most important and obvious that a zombie will not be attached to a stuffed animal ... hehehe greetings
