It is a pleasure to be with you again, sharing another of the beautiful Venezuelan birds. On this occasion, it is a very special, our popular and beloved parrot. In my particular case, it causes me great sadness to see the birds in captivity, I prefer to see them free and happy, delighting with their beautiful colors as they majestically furrow our beautiful sky. However, I must admit that traditionally this bird is a very popular pet, and has occupied a very special place in the hearts of many Venezuelan families, becoming one more member, by brightening and filling these homes with their occurrences day by day .

These birds belonging to the Psittacidae species and the Psittacidae family are not only beautiful, but also many scientific studies have shown that they stand out for their intelligence, coming to be included among the most intelligent group of animals. Although I have always known them as parrots, when I inquired a little about them I discovered that they are also known by the names of Amazona Nuquigualda, Yellow-naped Amazona or yellow-naped parrot, but their scientific name is Amazona Auropalliata.

As you can see in the photographs that I share today, this species of parrot, is characterized because its plumage predominates a wonderful and vibrant green color, but what distinguishes it from other species, is that its forehead and the area of ​​the cheekbones They are intense yellow. On the other hand, in regard to food, is based primarily on fruits, nuts, seeds and berries, which collects in their environment or ecosystem where they live, which is mainly wild type. The activities of deforestation and the captures of young pigeons and specimens, to be sold illegally as pets, have not only caused the decrease of the number of specimens, but also, have led to the displacement and conformation of groups or colonies in urban habitats. That is why, it is very important, not to promote the illegal commercialization of this and any other type of birds, because it attends to the subsistence of the different species.
