Animal Portraits at the Fair (Original Photography)

Howdy,

It's fair season in the Midwest and the one in nearby Garden City is, apparently, the longest-running fair in Minnesota. It's also quite small. Naturally, I had to go back and try for some more animal photos this year.

Two-Fur!

These two wanted their noses rubbed, although the one on the left was skittish. After they were used to me, I got down for a low-angle photo and they were happy to participate.

Behind Bars

There wasn't a great photo of a cow or pig to be had, while I was there. The horses were a little better, though.

"I'm Clucked!"

After a quick pass through the cows and horses, it was time to visit the Poultry Prison. These little ladies have been locked in individual cells for their crimes against chickenkind!

It was fun, even though there wasn't much to do. It's nice to see the animals, especially the goats, and get out of the apartment for awhile. After having yet another job lead turn into a dead end, I needed a change of scenery.

Those are great photos! Of course, I love the one with the goats the best, but I might be a little biased.

They were my favorite subjects, too. The chickens weren't as interested in photos and not fond of getting their noses scratched and the horse was trying to hide in the furthest corner. Too bad the pigs weren't cooperative, though. They make cute photos.

Pigs are so cute! And they're way more photogenic than their general shape would suggest.

I'm torn...you made the goats look terrific, but I love the titles for the chickens lol!
Glad you went back to the fair this year, I enjoyed your photos from last year :)
Bummer with the dead-end job, but appreciate you keeping us posted!

The goats were much more friendly, but criminal hens are notoriously gruff. I am tempted to go to the denomination derby tomorrow, but not sure it's worth the hassle.

Great animal photos! Love the goats! Our county fair just finished, but I wasn't able to go. So it's fun to see your photos.

This was a pretty small fair, but an old one. There weren't any rides, just a few animals, food, and tractors. It was fun to walk around and see the animals, though, especially the goats.

The Fair in my county (Rock) is the oldest 4H fair in the nation. Most days this year it was too hot to go and enjoy being there.

A dedicated 4H fair sounds like more fun. More animals to photograph!

It is a fun fair with ribbons given out for all sorts of baking and sewing and crafts, too. And lots of animals. The best ever cream puffs, too!

I don't like the sounds of that sir fotosdenada. I mean I'm glad you have savings but something needs to turn up!
