Hello My Dear Little Witches...

These are some of my favorite flowers, because apart from its simplicity and beauty, born from a plant that imparts fear, for its appearance as it has thorns everywhere, which makes it survive many animals, also its color is so vibrant that hardly goes unnoticed, grows almost without any care and even born in places with little soil.

The Argemone Mexicana commonly known as Cardo Santo, Amapolilla, Adormidera, Yellow Pricklypoppy, Cardo Floreciente, Amapola Espinosa or Amapola Mexicana, these are some of the names by which this resistant plant is known. It is a species of poppy that is native to Mexico, but has been naturalized in several countries, it can even be found in the western United States.

It has a bulb from which the flower is born, and in which when dried leaves us some tiny black seeds that are used in acupuncture to leave them as pressure points in specific places of the body, this small seed germinates very easily, so this plant is considered in some places as invasive, although many consider it poisonous for its appearance, and certainly it is for animals, it has medicinal properties.

This plant has a yellow sap that is considered a narcotic, although it is also used in treatments of warts and skin wounds, because it has antibiotic and antibacterial properties, likewise used the flowers, leaves, stems and roots, and even the seeds from which oil is obtained, the seeds can be used either toasted or fresh. This plant is used by traditional medicine, and in homeopathy for the treatment of diseases such as diarrhea, diabetes, kidney pain, rheumatism, it is also hypotensive.

Beauty is often hidden behind many thorns!

Hola Mis Queridos Brujitos...!

What a beautifully contrasting plant. It has such bold, sharp and almost aggressive looking leaves and then this pretty, dainty little flower. Too precious.
